Welcome Teeny๐Ÿ˜Š You've made a great decision for your health and future... The first week is hell.... A lot of people write their reason down why they need to quit to refer to it when addiction is strong ... Do you use nicotine replacement ?

Take 1 hr 1 craving at a time..... Alcohol is a huge trigger for me so I only have one drink still after 5 months.... Keep on site when you need encouragement... We have a great support family here from all over the world..

Best wishes from ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Hi Teeny๐Ÿ˜Š

Ya a lot of people get irritable when they quit..... It's so hard... I didn't get irritable but I was depressed and exhausted... I'm finally feeling normal after 5 months of hell.... But fear keeps me motivated to not smoke..... I've connected with so many people on this friendly site that have health problems because of smoking and I really can't gamble with my life.,

One craving at a time... Just don't take that first puff

xxxx

Hi teeny and welcome,

Do take a read of the pinned posts on the right of the screen ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

Being moody is very common in the early stages of your quit journey..keep on reminding yourself of your reasons for quitting.

Often we focus on what we a losing/missing. _ yet really when you thinking about it, all we are doing is reclaiming control. Mr Nic doesn't want to let us go without a fight, we just have to keeping letting him know that we are no longer going to be controlled by nicotine.

Drink lots of water as this helps flush all the toxins out of your system ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

We have a little mantra we use around here NOPE= Not One Puff Ever. Keeps this close. It maybe worth your while reading Allan Carrs easy way to quit smoking book (available on PDF - just google it) as this may help you turn negative thinking around.

All the very best of luck on your quit journey - I promise you, it does get easier ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€

Well done on your quit and unfortunately it's a difficult journeyโ˜น๏ธ Your first week is behind you now and don't worry about being irritable coz I was like that too. It's all fairly normal. Your body is making huge changes at the moment and it takes a while to adjust to this. Lots of help and support here for you so stay positive and you can do it.
