It's that time of year again! I don't post much anymore but I'm coming up to my 2 year badge on the 4th January and I wanted to share a premonition/thought. As the big day arrives we will all (hopefully) enjoy the family, the presents, the lunch and the beer. A lot of us would have also enjoyed a cig at certain someone times throughout the day. I used to stand on the doorstep feeling very pleased generally with how it was all going while puffing satisfyingly on my friend Mr Nic. Not last year though, I'd kicked him out of my Christmas party. No doubt he will try and gate crash again this year whispering sweet nothings about "one more time won't hurt" and "you can give me up again in the New Year" or "how can you enjoy yourself without me there by your side?".
Well folks, he's a big liar. One more time will hurt, you will need to go through all the pain of giving up again and you can have a brilliant time without him.
Have a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year everyone
Thank you so much for sharing as we have many members who are about to face their first Christmas and New years eve as a non smoker.....Your words are so very true
Hi Ann thanks for posting that it's good to be prepared. I had to go thru this awful meeting yesterday and I was there thinking I wouldn't be this nervous before when I could smoke and was thinking I was worse off and cigarettes really did calm you down. But I got through it. I know you still get tempted all the time and think you can just have one. I have to really believe no you can never have another one ever again.
Congratulations on two years Smokefree. Uv cracked it! Happy Christmas 🌲🎄🎄🌲
You keep strong Andrew.......it gets a lot easier I promise
Nice to connect with this lovely community again. 3 weeks is terrific CC79, you are a 🌟 The first few weeks are the most difficult. Now it's just mind games with old Nic. Good luck....it'll soon be 3 months and then 3 years
