Hi Deb :)

I'm just wandering Deb, if you have tried the breathing exercise :o cos it does help some of us :) and what about a bit of body exercise too, to try to loooosen the stress and tension in your body :o :)

Maybe a bit of dancing to a nice cd :) just to try to change your thoughts pattern :) xx

Have been doing the breathing exercises and they are helping😆. Have been doing a lot of driving ( only driver in family taking in laws to hospital appointments) so have had a lot of waiting in hospital clinics this week 😧😷

Have been taking the dog out for long walks weather permitting. Will try to find a new way of thinking as I seem to be waiting for the hard times to begin.😕 Think I'll start planning jobs that need to get sorted around the house and get them done. Thanks for advice Deb xx

Maybe thats why your having a hard time of it :o try to think of yourself for once eh :) let your hair down and be you :) go flippin treat yourself to something nice and I mean really nice and hold that pretty head up high and be PROUD of yourself :) :) gosh gal, you deserve it :) :) xx

what helped me Deb, was changing how i seen Mr Nic. At first i would get a craving and would be almost pulling my hair out it battling with myself. I remember going for a walk one day and did a bit of soul searching. I questioned if i could actually be successful in quitting etc etc.

After that day, i changed how i seen cravings..it went from very negative, to a very positive emotion...I would say things to myself, like bring it on!!!! I am in control and you will not win :) :) - Sounds a bit lame..but i sure worked for me.

The first 4 weeks are the worst, you are well on your way now :) :)

Hang in there as it truly does get a lot better :) :)

Lame?? LAME??? On the contrary Linda, In most fields of endeavours, they are said to be 10% inspiration & 90% perspiration. I think becoming an ex smoker is 10% perspiration & 90% perception. Once you get over the first couple of weeks of nicotine withdrawal (that's the 10%), the rest is about your relationship with smoking. Have you lost an old friend or removed a thorn?

I think what you experienced is the absolute crux of successfully emancipating yourself from the slavery of smoking & it certainly doesn't sound at all lame to me.

I think you are doing an awesome job with your quit Deb - This is probably the most difficult thing you have ever done in your life. If its not, it would be right up there :O :O

Keeping busy helps - Relaxing with a book etc can be difficult as part of the body recovering for me was finding it hard to concentrate, so reading etc become frustrating for me :O :O.

That is why for me to be successful in my quit I really did need to do some serious thinking about how I viewed smoking and how i viewed being a non smoker.

having a low self-esteem does make that hard Deb, but you can still do this :) :) I have suffered with self managed anxiety most of my adult life so i do understand the feeling low ..

You are doing very well, Believe it :) :)
