Got to 7 weeks nope!! Not one puff ever, feeling pleased, stinky fags are a thing of the past now, infact I passed a smoker earlier today who was freely smoking along the street and the smell felt intoxicating, it literally felt like it was exhaust fumes poisoning the air!! Felt sick, so weird how I enjoyed that smell, not anymore xx

Holly, when I actually look at the whole smoking thing logically it's absolute madness! Take away Mr nic and really think about the fact we light up a piece of paper with a load of old dried up leaves and soak that in poisonous chemicals then we suck on it and inhale the rubbish deep into our lungs and we enjoyed this??????? Wow I really do think I've literally been insane the past 30 plus years lol, and worse than that I have spent a fortune on this habit!!!! Xx

Thank you everyone. Briar, droopy, lily, Monky, emjay, holly, jillygirl, roneo, yellowsnowdrop, newbies, oldbies, everyone who cares enough to read my messages, notifications, questions and moans and groans, shanti thank you for being so strong and showing me that whatever life throws at you it is not an excuse to reach for the fags, we can cope just aswell as a non smoker if not more so than a smoker, fags do not eleviate stress nor do they calm you.....total mind trick by Mr nic! Happy new year to all you lovely people, if I have missed anyone I'm so sorry, every single person I have a spoke to on here have helped me!

Sharon, A BIG milestone of 7 weeks which before you know it will be 7 months & then 7 years. It feels good to get this far I bet, never had any doubts you would.l,so HUGE congrats on keeping your quit safe over the Christmas time.Just as added incentive one of the chemicals found in cigs is called Urea which is also present in Pee !!! They also contain formaldehyde which is one of the main constituents of embalming fluid.I feel sorry for those poor smokers. :-) :-) Happy New Year.Hugs. Helen

Thank you Helen, that's really strange you say that about urea, I suffered alot with urine infections, the last one made me so I'll I felt suicidal, sounds drastic but apparently an untreated urine infection temporarily affects your mental state and I had 4 lots of the wrong antibiotics until one was matched which meant I had this infection for 3 months!!!! And I felt so ill and low, once I had been put on the right antibiotic I started to feel much better, not long after this I decided to quit the fags and my smoking cessation nurse said smoking directly cause urine infections!!!! Smokers are highly prone to urine infections so another good reason to quit! Since quitting I have been free of this!!!! X

Hi Sharon, Yes it's amazing how fast things improve when quitting the cigs, I have had 2 colds in the 16 months since I quit and I can honestly say they have been mild compared to when I smoked.

Congrats on 7 weeks quit, :-) Stay strong. xx. :-)

Thank you Mrs sunnyside, i can't wait to get to where you are on your quit, how has it been for you along the road? Do you still have cravings? Did u find any particular part of your journey harder than others? X
