Anyone got any tips for getting through 'heck week' unscathed and without a smoking incident? Managed not to give in but thought about a 'cheeky' cigarette for like two hours yesterday!

Heck week??, is that week 2, i remember reading somewhere that week one was referred to hell week and week 2 as Heck week. Are you using any Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)? Drink lots of water, go for a walk, remind yourself of why you are quitting, think of the money you are saving, think about how you body will thank you for this (it does get better :) and easier :) )

Hang in there as you are already do Very Very well :) :)

Hi mortimersma. Drink lots of water go for run or walk that will help you stop thinking about having a fag. Found things to do. To keep your mind busy. Are you using any NRT. If not you can get your self a e cig that is what I am using plus vape as well. And well done for quitting the fags well. :D

Ho Orford Holly - great to meet you! I sure am on HRT - using the patches and feel much better today as my quit buddy Kate is in the office with me...have found that boredom is my trigger, so trying to keep busy, busy, busy like you say :)

Hiya mortimersma, fantastic for not giving in to that cig, it really is hard at times but worth it in the long run :)

In the begining we think about cigs a heck of a lot, so what you're feeling is normal :)

I can say it will get easier and you're doing great :)

Just keep busy and you'll get through those cravings, anything to distract yourself from the dirty smelly smokes will do :)

The money you're saving will help to treat yourself to something nice, coz you deserve it :)

Keep fighting, stay positive and you'll get there :) x

Hi Briarswood - thanks so much for your support! Indeed I hope to quit these horrid little sticks for good this time! My partner Matt is still chuffing away, which sometimes makes it tough, but at least I'm not stood outside in sub-zero temperatures alongside him :) Boredom is my main enemy - been cleaning, drinking water, brushing my teeth, exercising and now finally rewarding myself with Chupa Chups and getting up super early to take photographs of the sunrise to avoid that morning fix :)

Hi mortimersma, you're doing great and yep I know it's tough as my hubby's still smoking but you can do it :)

Lucky you not out in the cold anyway, keep up the good work :) x

Hi ya Mortimersma and a big warm welcome to this lovely quit site :) :)

How about you spring clean your home, get rid of that ciggie stink, wash your clothes so they smell nice :) Have you tried Emjays breathing exercises, cos they help :) Drink plenty of water this also helps to clean all those toxins from your body :) Exercise, cos your filling your lungs with clean fresh air :)

If you dont mind me asking Mortimersma, when was your quit date ? cos then I will be able to enter it onto our wall of winners for you :)

Hi Monky - ahh, it's good to meet the person who has my original choice of name! I sure have spring cleaned my house, drank water til I'm fit to burst and exercised like a nut...did find a cure in the end - a Chupa Chup lolly....are these classed as just swapping one addiction for another?! Quit date was 30th November - 10 days smoke free yes!!! Not tried Emjays breathing exercises, but will be sure to look them up for the next time. No nicotine left, just the habit :) Hope you have a wonderful day x

Ah gosh! It's so nice to meet you and well done you on seeing off the craving monsters - I really do feel for you, it's so hard - no mistake, but I'm starting to see the benefits, are you?

It took me 2.5 hours this morning to do my 30 minute journey and I unfortunately succumbed to....three Chupa Chups! Here's hoping you're still doing well and seriously - huge congrats on the quit. Maybe the friends we make on here will help us through the Saturday monsters? x
