Hi everyone,
It's been a week since I went cold turkey. I went to visit family and nobody smokes. Today, the craving seems so strong because I'm feeling stressed. God bless the quitters. Feel so emotional right now.

Thank you so much. Last Wed was my first day. My family has no clue. Closet smoker. I kept praying today. So glad I found this site. The shame has got to go. Stuffy nose was expected. Being a woman, dang emotions. Has anyone woman experience a weird monthly (sorry guys). I quit 3 days before and just got weird all of a sudden. Anyways, we are in this together for we are winners. Thank you.
Hopefully other woman can share their experiences as i am no help here at all. Had everything removed many years ago due to cancer.
Believe in yourself..and you can do this..In my opinion, the first 4 weeks are the worst..from there it truly does get a whole lot easier.
Although cold turkey is the hardest way to quit..as you have to deal with everything in one hit...it does get you nicotine free.. You are nicotine free now, hence why the emotions.. YOU GOT THIS
We have a wee motto we use all the time..NOPE- Not One Puff Ever
Hello Kellycat,
A week is brilliant. Fantastic work. I'm also a cold turkey quitter, and it hits you hardest after day 3 when all the nicotine has left your body. Stick with it though, it's the quickest way of getting past withdrawal. It's mind over matter now.
I can highly reccomend Alan Carrs book easy way to quit smoking. Easy to download and a quick read which will help you to put things into perspective.
I wouldn't suggest NRT AT this point as it will just excite all those nicotine receptors and put you back to square one with regards to withdrawal.
Paul x
Congrats Kellycatππππ
All your emotions and physical symptoms are normal .... The first 3 weeks are weird that's for sure .... I was exhausted.... sweat all the toxins out of my system...... I felt sedated but I couldn't sleep.... On and on... But thanks to the people on this site... They reassured me that this was unfortunately normal..
Hang in there..... These sideeffects of withdrawal will pass xx
Hi Kelly well done and t h e answer to your question is yes I had that same thing a couple of times now ππ keep it up though so worth it x
Hang in there Kelly! I went cold turkey too and it is tough at first -- but it is also the quickest way to get totally FREE of the root cause of smoking addiction; that is: nicotine. It will get better.
Hi Kellycat, proud oneweekwinner! Hang in there, girl, you're being brave and smart and fierce, all into one. For us girls struggling withithdawal and PMS on top of that, it's really overwhelming, but we can do it - You can and will do it!
Just come around here anytime you feel down or stressed or whatever, really. This community is a wonderful tool to help you keep winning this battle.
Best of luck for you and have a wonderful, smoke-free 2016!
Hi Kelly! Good job for you on the cold turkey quit. That's the same route I took too. It's very hard, and the emotions are crazy bad!
You've come a long way. Keep it up! And you are in a great place for support!

Nope, no nrt here. Don't want to spend money on nicotine anything. Thank you all for your support. Just been praying for strength. Praying for you all too.
Well done kellycat one week cold turkey is superb... No more nicotine in your system so now you just gotta concentrate on those side effects and that sneaky bugger mr nic trying to entice you back in ππ but you can do it, you seem determined and the great thing is that you have found this siteπ I couldn't have done it without each and every one of them ππ
