Got to one week. Feeling very depressed and anxious today. I had a very stressful day at work and came home and felt sorry for myself all night. Sitting here pondering wondering what life is all about and whether it will ever get any easier. Really don't know what is wrong with me.

Hiya Wendy, well done for getting through your first week😊

Feeling blue after a stressful day is about par for the course unfortunately☹️ A huge amount of change is going on at the moment and your body is under stress from the effects of quitting. I can tell you it will get easier but right now it's just different. We have to learn how to get through these difficult times without smoking and that ain't easy coz we're so used to lighting up😩 We know how hard it is for ya and feel your pain. Tomorrow is a fresh new day and things will look brighter in the morning. Please don't doubt yourself, hang in there for a better day tomorrow💐

Oh Wendy, I feel for you, I do.. You are right in the thick of the worst part of it all. Another few days and it will all seem so much better. It really does get better with time and you will not regret your decision.

Congratulations on getting through the first week. You're doing so well. We all know how hard it is at this stage and send you lots of hugs and good wishes. Stick with it and you will get rewarded on the other side. 😀😀😀

I feel for you and I remember my first week, it was like do I or dont I. If I had a daisy I would have been plucking it lol. Stress also will get to you and the little problems will feel like huge problems but they really aren't its just you would take a long drag from your smoke and suddenly things didnt look so bad but now u dont have that option so u stress more.

I does get easier Wendy trust me and if I can do this holy hell so can you, one day at a time. Today was my first real outing and what do I see people driving and smoking and Im like OH GOD!!!!!!!! I want to do that too, I miss smoking and driving, things right now at this stage dont seem like fun without my fag lol lol. My morning coffee its like something is missing. Its funny how we get programmed like a friggin robot, coffee-smoke, driving-smoke, stress-smoke, sex-smoke every GD thing we did before required a smoke, lets include smoking-dying.

You r doing so well Wendy cause the beginning is the not only the hardest but its when we are most tempted cause its fresh. Like when u get a cut it hurts like a son of a gun until a scab forms and thats just what u r doing now buiding a scab around Mr Nic covering him up so he cant hurt us anymore and we get strong then when we dont need the scab anymore it falls off and we are healed. Smoke free "yeah" Eye on the TIGER Wendy u r the best.

Hi Wendy well done on your first week of quitting, the first week is the hardest we all know that, it does seem to turn your life up side down for a short time but it does sort it's self out I promise. This is my third week and I can honestly say I don't feel so blue and the cravings have practically gone. Just give yourself time you will get through it, and when you feel like a moan or a rant or anything else just come on here and get it off your chest ok, there's always someone around on here for you.

I have moaned and I have had the kindest words and support that I needed I am so glad I clicked the link as I am also on the FibroAction.

Hold in there Wendy and if you have your fag money put aside why not go and treat yourself you deserve it

Well done to you too. Funnily enough I have been really snappy again with my hubby......ooops I really haven't realised I am doing it but I feel awful now. I have just apologised but doesn't seem to have done the trick.....I am sure it will be ok tomorrow 😬😬😬😬😬

There's some humble pie along this road isn't there! Hopefully people close, who know what we are trying to do will see the bigger picture and know that it will pass. I've stood back a few times this week, always after! There's a lot of realignment in this quitting. On the surface it looks crazy, why put ourselves through it but the bigger lie is what we were unknowingly putting ourselves through whilst smoking...Now that's MAD! Take care of yourself, I'm having to step that up 3 fold!! :O)

hi Wendy - the first week is very tough - but you have survived it :) :)

It is very common to get mild depression - Anxiety in the early part of quitting. On saying that, it does pass.

I know when i first quit, I was fine at home, it was being at work that tested me the most. At time I just wanted to scream :D :D and for people to just leave me alone :D :D

To be honest - i now have a calmness that I never had as a smoker :) :) so please be patient. Your body is undergoing a huge amount of adjusting at the moment :) ) It will be so worth it :) :)
