Good morning everybody Ave just finished work, so am going to have a relaxing day today me thinks It's a lovely cold fresh morning, not a cloud in sight and that flippin wind has dropped too Erm talking about wind !!
I had to titter to myself at one of your posts yesterday Emjay, you said it was blowing that much that it nearly blew your car door off !! ha ha it reminded me of the film - ''Italian job'' where Michael Caine says '' Your only supposed to blow the b_____ doors off '' sorryyyyyyyyy
What with Christmas and quitting smoking too, like Jonathan, I think most of us have put a bit of weight on eh !! anddddd yes me included before anybody says anything, mentioning no names, Jillygirl
I think Emjay or Andi should draw us up a diet and exercise plan for the New Year I say for the New Year, cos ave still got some erm, goodies to munch on yet hopefully, they will all be devoured by then
Rite thats enough of me rabbiting on, I hope you all have a lovely relaxing smoke free Saturday but hey, if you've relapsed over Christmas, it's not the end of the World !! just sit yourself down and try to think why and how it happened. There's loads of advice and help on here, if you cant find what you are looking for, then just ask
See ya soon

Well........I DID IT!!!!! I got through Christmas totally smoke free!!! I'm very proud of myself! I'm not gonna pretend it was easy cos it wasn't. In fact it was hard...very hard! But with encouragement from my daughter I just faced each urge as it came thru and moved on!
One thing I've noticed is how much more time I have to do things. The dog is loving it cos we get to go walking more often and for longer, the house is spotless......
Now to new year........bring it on! If I can get thru that I'll know I'm on the right track haha.
I downloaded the Quitter App....in 5 days 20 hours and 2 mins since I quit I've saved $77.03. Now planning what to do with the money I save
So glad to hear of your success M (sorry, I'm a bit blank with your name at the mo ), I'm sure you won't have a problem finding something to spend that money on. Just make sure it's something for you though.
Am just lounging by the pool now, like you, clear sky and sunshine, b####y hot though! sightseeing/shopping later.
Pete, I'll need to do something too - it'll be good to do some proper exercise again for a change. Too much inactivity the last few weeks for me.
Morning Pete, and everyone, Love the pic Pete, Muddles you must be so proud of yourself, you must be pleased with youself. Well done! Andi enjoy your dip in the pool. you will soon be back on cycling. Pete yep its a good idea diet and exercise. .
Mardi, thats just great news gal and yes you hold your head up high and be proud of yourself and its lovely to hear that your Daughter helped you get through it You keep focused and you will get through to the new year. You go out and treat yourself on something nice eh
Andi, its great to see ya soooo where the hec are you now then ?? Huh, we got the sun here too so there Hey Andi, dont you stay in that pool toooo long eh, cos you will come out all wrinkly

Jillygirl, am sure you will scrub up like a new pin gal, and will be the envy of all the other Ladies with you
Enjoy your meal out and dont bother about counting them cals gal, cos am doing it for you 5 thousand and what !!
I've had a nice lazy day today Jilly just a bit of pottering about, as us old boys do eh a bit here and a bit their as they say
Hi Everyone, still going here with "party food" relations fly back home tomorrow...looking forward to some proper food again. Yes gained weight so hoping the weather at least stays dry for some dog walks and maybe...just maybe some work! (I'm a gardener). Hope you have all had a good Christmas and guess that we have got to think of another New Year resolution soon!
Take care, wrap up warm and hope that you are safe from flood damage etc.
Aup Ranger, yep, know just what you mean about the party fooooood eh As Jillygirl has said, I think we all have to make a New Years resolution, good diet and exercise we will see !!
I was a gardener for the council ermmmm, a few moons ago now gal we used to look after the local parks, gardens and schools etc, so I did learn quite a lot about gardening BUT, ave only got 1 brain cell and am just wondering if you could help me please, me knowing that you've got at least 3 or 4 brain cells eh
I purchased 5 Ilex Aquifolium variegata's about 8 Years ago, { for jillygirl, Holly with yellow and green leaves } 1 bit the dust !! 2 still variegated with no berries !! 1 went green with berries and 1 is half variegated/green with berries !! which is the biggest and most shapeliest 1
Now then !! I'm thinking of cutting the green off it, just leaving it variegated but that will spoil the shape !! soooo, I thought, if I cut the green off and put a stake or 2 in, then I could gradually tie the branches up to shape it again just wondered if you had done this before and if you have any thoughts about it ??
Sorry to be a pain in the rear gal, just thought it may take your mind off them erm, other things eh speak soon, Pete
Holly is always a pain in the bum....always get prodded and poked by it! Short answer..cut it off. Most variegated plants will revert "back to type" i.e. go green at some point and to some degree. I usually do the same as you suggest and cut off the green (it will come back again) and make the best shape possible with what is left. Is it possible to reduce the whole plant down so that it doesn't look so obvious? Hope that helps? usually gut instinct is the best!
Today was day 40!
You are not a pain in the rear Pete....you are a happy sole who always cheers me up and gives great encouragement...you carry on firing those questions! TTFN x
Hey Ranger, a flippin massive great big well done to you for getting to day 40, or is it day 41 now
Please please stay focused and positive on your quit, cos if you let your guard down, nic will surely strike, and boy does he strike !! So take care eh, cos I want to be able to cheer you on at Day 50, 60, 70 You listening to me gal Huh, typical flippin Woman, nodds off at the time you need her
Thankyou for the help with the Holly, much appreciated
I didn't have any, and isn't it a banned substance these days?

If I'd wanted a Mahonia bush, I would have bought 1
At the end if a smokefree Xmas, nor easy but helped by chest bug refusing to go so aiding my desire to NOPE. To be honest feel quite depressed but is that normal. Like the way that don't drink as much when not smoking, they definately encouraged eachother along ... Off to catch up on work, I have privaledge of typing up reports at home!
Hi ya Sky, sorry you've had a chest infection over Christmas, BUT hey, you've got through it Yeah, I think most of us get depressed at some point on our quit but it will get better
Smoke and drink are the very best of buddies !! I myself have relapsed a couple of times due to ermmm over indulging on the nectar so please beware eh.
I hope you enjoy your privileged typing up reports
