Eyelashes are a beauty enhancer. They are an add on to the beauty of your eyes. The longer the eyelashes the more beautiful your eyes appear. But in today’s scenario it is very difficult to have such beautiful and long eyelashes. Rare are the cases wherein there is no such problem of eyelashes, because these people are either genetically blessed with such eyelashes or their body is rich in all the essential vitamins.

Every girl or lady wishes to have such long lashes. But, at some point of time you tend to lose your lashes. This loosing of eyelashes is a big issue of concern. The reasons are many and vary from person to person. There is no one such particular reason for loosing of eyelashes. Here we discuss about some of the reasons for loss of eyelashes. These are some of the most common reasons for lashes fall out.

Trichotillomania Tangle:

This condition is related to the pshychological state of a person. Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder. In this the sufferer pulls out his or her own hair. These people commonly pull hair from their scalp, eyebrows or eyelashes. Most people with trichotillomania pluck each hair out at the roots, yet there are some who pull out large handfuls at a time.

This begins usually at childhood or adolescence. Sometimes coinciding with the onset of puberty. Some children develop hair-pulling habits that usually subside with age, yet some individuals continue the behavior throughout adulthood.

Thyroid Condition:

Overactive and underactive thyroid glands can result into loss of eyelashes. An overactive thyroid gland can have the inability to tolerate heat, difficulty in sleeping, weight loss, swelling of the lower neck and headaches. In this the hair break off, giving bald patches and that may also occur in eyelashes and eyebrows. On the other hand an underactive thyroid gland produces symptoms of intolerance to cold, dry skin, constipation and weight gain.

In this thyroid condition the eyebrows and eyelashes become sparse as the hair become thin, dry and brittle.

Alopecia Areata:

Alopecia Areata, a disorder of the immune system causing hair loss. The immune cells attack the hair follicles thus causing them to fall out. This can cause loss of all hair on the body or loss in just one area such as eyebrows, beard, eyelashes or scalp. There is no cure for this but it can be treated. Tropical products are the best for treatment.

Chemical Allergy to Mascara:

Most of the mascaras come with chemical content in them. These chemicals cause lashes to fall out. There are certain chemicals in mascaras that cause allergies. If you are an individual who has allergies to air born materials such as dust then it is better for you to avoid wearing a mascara.

Mascaras can cause dermatitis and conjunctivitis. Contact dermatitis is a reaction occurring when substances like the ones causing allergic reactions, allergens, come in contact with the skin surroundins your eyes. Conjunctivitis appears when the allergens flake off from the mascara and fall into the eye; thus causing irritating the conjunctiva. This is the thin, moist membrane covering the surface of your eyeballs.

Blepharitis:

This is an inflammation of the eyelids caused by excessive growth of a bacteria that is ordinarily found on the skin. One more reason is due to the blockage of the eyelid’s oil glands or even allergies. This condition can cause eyelids to be reddened or itchy. Sometimes swollen also. Belpharitis cannot be cured but it can be treated and controlled through proper eyelid hygine.

Chemotherapy:

As we all know that chemotherapy comes with a lot of dis advantages, falling of eyelashes is one amongst those disadvantages. This has a direct effect on the hair follicles. The effect may be for short term and long term. If some such condition occurs then consult your doctor before switching on for any of the product.

Natural Eyelash Loss:

Apart from all these conditions eyelashes can fall of naturally also. Just like our hair fall off naturally and regrow, same way our lashes fall and regrow. Various factors like environment also cause eyelashes to fall off. Try to avoid improper rubbing of eyes and keep dirty hands away from the eyes, in order to avoid falling of eyelashes.

Here you are with all the very basic guide to reasons of eyelash fall out. Now before opting for any product keep in mind to have an eyelash enhancer review. This would help you to get the best suitable one.

So, does smoking cause your eyelashes to fall out, haha, well probably if you light your cig on the gas hob like I used to do and you singe them. Still, saves on mascara. Of course it's just a nonsense to get you to click on that link there at the bottom.

Yes, and the content is kinda weird. Anything can cause the loss of eyelashes - even the lack of vitamins. If it's not some obvious clinical state, you may help yourself using castor oil or some effective serum, for instance, Cherish Lash. The last one literally saved my eyelashes this winter when I had no time or opportunity to eat healthy.

Thanks for the great post. I had the same problem with my eyelashes. So I started using Careprost :-) earlier this year (2-3 times a week). It is a generic form of the same liquid Latisse (Lumigan, Bimatoprost, Careprost - they are all the same thing) . Careprost gives great results for eyelashes growth. It works well to stop eyelashes from falling out even when you are removing your make up or while washing your face. The results are visible in just a few weeks. Lashes become longer and stronger. You can read a lot of good reviews on forums. I found it worked great, my lashes are longer and thicker and look really pretty.

If you're curious this is reliable site where I get Careprost and they have a good price and great quality:

I received my order within a few days. They gave me a promo code "SALE10" to get 10% off. My sister and co workers are all using Careprost now. Good luck!
