Large Fibroid

Hi i have large Fibroid outside the uterus. I am on the waiting list for myomectomy.I was wondering if someone has had a myomectomy and how successful it was.

Hello, I too have a large Intermural Fibroid and am waiting for an Open Myomectomybso so can't give you any feedback on the outcome but it's nice to know someone else is in the same boat.

How are your symptoms and how long have you waiting?

Ive been symptomatic for around 2nyears and then noticed a "bulge" in my abdomon last march. It took me a while to get an ultrasound scan and then to see Gynea so have been on the list since December.

Mine is just behind my bladder and has distorted my Uterus.

It gives me lots of bladder issues and pelvic/back pain. It's also caused my kidneys to become dilated due to urine frequency and now I have Edema in one leg too 🫣

I also had a large fibroid on the outside and had a myomectomy. It was a good decision. The constant pain vanished. Short recovery time. You’ll be fine!
