Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had the same situation or could help me with mine, I recently had some blood tests, full blood count, liver function test, clotting screen test, B12 and hemoglobin A1C. My full blood count came back Borderline and Liver function test came back Abnormal , the rest came back fine but they lost my clotting one, so I went back for the clotting and full blood count and they came back fine as I started to take the iron tablets they gave me, just need to go again for my liver one . it said on my doctors notes they needed to check for blood loss then start iron replacement. I was on 200mg of iron tables for a month. mentally feel so much better and recently got rid of a lot of stress too.
when I have my periods they are painless and normal flow but I have massive blood clots sometimes once and day or 7/10 a day. and my periods go on for about 2-3 weeks. my doctors have requested a scan but said I might not get it due to not being important, but if I have to wait I don't mind going private. The clinician said it could be fibroids but I have no idea.

I hope that you are well! I have had a abnormal liver function test in the past (they also found a mass on my liver during a scan) but when retested a few months after, all was normal. I have also been low in iron at some points in my life and also high in iron at other times!
I think that your GP is right in requesting the scan and because they have made the referral it it is likely that you will get an appointment- you just may be in for a bit of a wait as you wont be a priority. On a positive note, you are not in pain but the fact that your periods are so long - is definitely something to investigate (although this could be completely normal). Large clots (bigger than a coin) may indicate the presence of uterine fibroids or polyps.
I had polyps and had them removed. I also have fibroids (x4) and my symptoms are; back pain, severe menstrual cramps (which put me to bed for most of the week), sharp stabbing pains in my abdomen and pain with intimacy. I am in a support group for people with fibroids and we all have varying symptoms so it is not a one case fits all. A scan will confirm if you have any fibroids, where they are located and their size. In my experience they don't tend to remove fibroids if they are not causing you any pain and most women can live with them without any issues.
Some birth control can also cause prolonged periods or depending on your age it could be hormonal/peri menopause. Ironically some birth control pills can also help with this and once you have got your scan done - you could ask about this.
**Obviously I am not a Doctor and am only sharing my personal experiences with you - I hope that you don't have to wait too long for a scan appointment x
