Psycological effect of prolapse
Yes I get u, have had a bladder prolapse after having hysterectomy 5 yrs ago. I’m on the list for surgery which is a years wait, I’m fine having any other surgery and have had plenty for endometriosis but this one is really scaring me to death and the thought of this prolapse makes me proper cringe! Have had physio for a year but it hasn’t helped 😖x
Hi all....I managed a bladder prolapse for 10 yrs quite sever I used a kegal 8 electronic pelvic floor exerciser that I found on line it was a absolute god send to me this device is terrific ..I also used collegan vit d and vit c..high sttenght ...if you stick st it twice a day at first you will see results..I delayed my prolapse operation sometimes I forgot I even had a grade 3 sometimes 4 prolapse at times...I've had to sucome to a operation as I had to come off hrt ...hrt also helps as it replaces the estrogen that helps strenghten your pelvic floor...I'm 8 weeks post op I went private as didn't want to wait...I can't wait to start using my kegal 8 again I've had 2 in 10 yrs...sometimes you can buy them on ebay and buy a new probe or go onto kegal 8 site they are about 150.00 but was the best money I had ever spent.. pls look at the kegal website just to get more info the helpline girls are so helpful ....hope this info gives hope.. .xxx
I can sympathise. I have a vaginal wall prolapse. Apparently all prolapse are from bladder dropping and pushing into other organs. Managing to push mine back inside on a daily basis because I don't want to go into hospital. Exercises didn't help at all. My hysterectomy was done thirty years ago, but vagina and ovaries left. Inserting pessaries does help somewhat. Online web sites sell them.
HiKnow how you feel - it's not something you want to talk about and it makes you feel very isolated.I have prolapse and am determined not to have surgery after hearing lots of horror stories.I researched alternative options and found a Therapy Centre in India who do a Auyrvedic medicine in powder form which you mix with yoghurt once a day and consume.I've been taking it for 2 months and it's starting to help. The longer you've had the prolapse the longer it takes to heal.Makes sense. Also I'm 68 so that makes it a bit slower to heal as well. The only downside is the price - it's expensive but worth sticking with.Read the blogs and lots of women have been completely healed of prolapse. It's given me hope.
Please don't give up - it's never too late to get complete relief.Good luck and best wishes.
So sorry to hear of your suffering.
Prolapse can cause immense distress which is totally underestimated and poo pooed by medical proffession.
They try and tell you it's not too bad and stall a lot.
I have bowel and bladder prolapse and I have been left to suffer unnecessarily for years now...
They ignored my symptoms and fobbed me off, told me it was endo metriosis.
It affected my gait, and they refused for years to take it seriously once they did wrong op.
I been shouted at, abused and quite frankly gynae services need massive gov. Review. Immediately.
Women are treated with contemt and gaslight by some bowel and gynae surgeons.
I was a nurse for years and it has stopped my career, I am no shrinking violet and I know the system.
I hope to write an article on medical gaslighting.
I was made to feel I was going mad until they had to agree with me what was wrong by doing the correct tests after I kept persisting.
I felt, like you lost, abandoned, depressed and highly anxious by their gaslighting. I started to doubt my body and sanity.
The government need to look into this highly dysfunctional area of medicine IMHO
