Hello, this is my first time posting. I appreciate any advice regarding my situation. I’m 64, have gone to menopause with no problem, and my only issue until a few months ago is that I am overweight. Not terribly, but I do have a role that shouldn’t be there across my abdomen. I started having abdominal pain when I would walk or stand for an extended period of time, to the point where I would have to sit down. I thought I had a hernia but no.i ache like severe cramps from left to right across my lower abdomen, and it started hurting on my left lower side. Recently I had a battery of tests done, then re-done, and I have Swollen inguinal lymph nodes. My gyno sent me to a surgeon to discuss a biopsy and ensure it’s not lymphoma. The surgeon said come back in December since I have zero other symptoms. I mean zero. I’ve had blood work done three times since June, all of it perfect. I had a CT scan with/without contrast in my abdomen and pelvic area, ultrasounds, transvaginal ultrasounds, and have been examined fully by my gyno. Had a colonoscopy, you name it. They came up with two different UTIs and I’m done with my medication. At the end of the day, I still have the exact same pain as before. I never even felt like I had a UTI but apparently it showed up. So I am stuck with this horrible pain that runs left to right in the lower section across my abdomen and ache right on top of my pubic mound. I understand the bladder is under there. Trying to get an appointment with a urologist but they are 30 days out. In the meantime I hurt so bad that I can’t even stand sometimes. I am concerned about the lymph nodes being swollen but the doctors aren’t concerned enough to do a biopsy. I do have back pain that radiates down to my left butt and front area but that wouldn’t make my nodes swell. I have been told by an ortho to do physical therapy but that’s tough to do when I can’t even bend. I do have the gift that keeps on giving for 40 years (genital herpes) and it’s never cause a problem like this. Has anyone ever experienced pain right on top of where your pubic hair is? Aside from my inguinal lymph nodes hurting on both sides and feeling the pain in my bladder/public area, I am the picture of health. Nobody seems to know what to do with me. someone recommended pelvic physical therapy. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this.

I don't know what to tell you other than I think you need to find out why those lymph glands are swollen. Swollen lymph glands could be the signs of infection other other things. What is being done about that?

Good luck to you! I hope your pain gets resolved quickly! I have started seeing a pelvic physical therapist who is very knowledgeable. She said my symptoms are very common ones she sees and said my pain may be related to scar tissue that has become tangled over the yeare. I do believe that is part of my problem and have thought so for years, but all the doctors blew me off whenever I asked about it. Doesn’t explain the lymph node

Swelling so I’m still in search of answers there. Good luck with your appointment!

I have been reading about hernias in women. They are notoriously difficult to find in women. I know a case where lymph nodes were swollen in a female and eventually she was diagnosed with inguinal hernia. No bulge to see. Just a thought.

Funny you should mention that! I was told a long time ago that I had one and that’s

What I thought it was all this time. But

The surgeon said I don’t have one and

That it wouldn’t cause my lymph nodes to

swell. I’m seeing a urogyne next week, which is a urologist that is also a gynecologist. Hoping for some Answers!

Thank you!

P,. S. I also have had all of those tests, cat scan blood tests etc, hernia often won't show up,on them. At the beginning of the year I had diverticulitis that put me in hospital, was walking around with a huge abscess in my bowel for months after that and not one thing showed up on blood tests, although I felt ill. Anyway to cut a long story short I had a bowel resection, I'm all healed now but the hernia symptoms are back. My surgeon is awesome so I'm hoping he'll find it, but not getting my hopes up. I go for a ultrasound scan Tuesday. I've had this one before but he said this is different. My symptoms similar to. Yours, but on right, painful when I use bowel, sore back, pain above right pubic bone and groin, and pain over appendix area . I'll let you know how I go.

Good idea. The urologist/ gynocologist so know their scruff. Let me know how you go, because I was also thought to have hernia, but couldn't be found, now I've had more abdominal surgeries and the symptoms are back with a vengeance, ( they can come and go). It is more recognised now that women's hernias are different, often don't have a bulge, and can be very painful.
