Mons Pubis/ Bladder connection

Hi all.My problem starters around mid 2020 where I started to notice incomplete emptying when I went for a wee. I developed a burning sensation before and after I went to the toilet. Everyone I spoke to said it sounded like a UTI . I had urine tests and blood tests and all clear.

Since then, I have had constant pain on my mon's pubis area, with a stiffness feeling when pressed on the middle running from top to genital area.

For some reason when I wee the pain flares up and it's with me for the rest of the day, so I've had it every day for nearly 4 years.

I've had a prostate check and an ultra sound scan on my bladder, all clear.

Physio agreed there's a firmness in my mom's pubic area down the middle (as mentioned. ). This area burns or inflamed type feeling when I wee or bend forward. Trouble is, there are no definite answers why the pain in my mon's pubic and bladder pain are connected. I believe it's because the bladder is in that region.

The pain is all day, worse when seated and uncomfortable lying down in bed. I have tried all sorts of anti inflammatory creams but nothing works.

I believe I may have done some damage to the region as I do weight.lifting and core work and used to do lots of lower tummy exercises, but why the inflamed feeling of the bladder I don't know.

Thank you for reading my post.

Hiya . I havent been referred to one so not sure. To be honest I'm a bit disappointed with my GP as he's basically said there's no more they can do.

I am female and I have similar problem. I have pain after voiding and at bedtime. I had all kinds of tests and imaging. I did PT fir tight pelvic floor and am told the muscles are ok now. Pelvic pain specialist diagnosed iliolinguinal and iliohypogastric entrapment. He did 5 nerves blocks. Still have pain after voiding and bending.

I wonder whether you have Osteitis Pubis. Your symptoms sound like it. I hope your doctor can check for that or a really good pelvic floor therapist. Good Luck!

Hi.

Yes I've looked that up and the symptoms are similar to mine. Apparently with this condition the bladder can be affected.

My pain is mainly on my left side and I was treated with six trigger point shots once a month inside my vagina. As painful as they were they did relieve the spasms some. Then I went to a pain specialist who did a nerve block on my left side and he prescribed nerve medication and I am in control of the pain now. Check into a urogynocologist and a pain specialist to see how they can help

What is your nerve medication?

This could be pudendal nerve injury, especially if you feel worse sitting. I have had this and without treatment it could get worse. My advice is to contact Dr Gareth Greenslade at the Bristol Pain clinic. Alternatively contact the London Pain Clinic, Both have years of experience in this area. I would also avoid heavy exercise until you get a diagnosis,
