Bulky uterus and pelvic congestion found during laproscopy

Hi, just joined today so hope I'm in the right place! I have suffered from chronic pelvic pain for a few years and it was assumed I had endometriosis. I had a laproscopy a couple of weeks ago during which no evidence of endo was found. I was discharged and basically told nothing was wrong and wouldn't need any follow up but I've just had a look at my notes and in tiny writing it says I have a large bulky uterus and pelvic congestion! The letter to my gp did not mention this at all and I thought nothing of it until a friend said she'd been told she had a similar uterus and it ended in her having a hysterectomy. My question is - do I need to follow this up? Should these findings have been mentioned to me? My consultant/surgeon obviously did not think it was important but having googled both, particularly Adenomyosis, symptoms match exactly. Thanks x

Hmm I don't have any answers for you. I'm not sure what you should do next to be honest. I also have a bulky uterus/ adenomyosis and Endo which was found during a lap. I'm quite fortunate that I don't have daily pain and most pain I do have (usually a week before my period or at the beginning) I can manage with Tramadol and staying off work. I'm about to start ivf again and they said they're not sure if this would play a part and just see how things go. I have had 4 failed attempts though. I am trying to stay positive but suspect that eventually this would result in a full hysterectomy as suggested by another consultant - although I never had any faith in her.

I do believe they should have told you. I'm not sure whether a hyst would solve your pain. I've heard how others have had surgery and still get pain but everyone's different.

After I had my lap, I made my oh take photos of all my notes in my folder at the end of the bed with his phone, whilst they wasn't looking.

I can't advise but just want to wish you all the best. I DO believe they should have told you and maybe when you get your follow up apt you can get them to mention and clarify this?

Best wishes x
