My sister has terminal bowel cancer. Worried I have ovarian cancer now. I've had an ultrasound for suspected appendicitis which was negative. Internal probe looked at my ovary and it was fine but does ultrasound miss cancer? Bloods are not showing up anything other than normal. Anyone out there who has had similar symptoms or am I worrying unnecessarily?

I have had a constant pain in my right pelvic area for about 3 weeks now.
Meg,
I'm no expert on C. But after all my blood tests and ultrasound scans this year I was repeatedly told I didn't have C in the groin.
So I think you may be worrying yourself to death!
Hugo is right.no expert ,but, ovarian c is a silent killer.Ive been told by drs.that when they find it it is usually too late.If you've seen related specialist for this ,I would check with a physiologist. Judy r
Hello,
Does your pain increases with menstruation and decreases just in the fourth week of the cycle (in the end of cycle)?
I have endometriosis and I started with a pain in a right pelvic area. They thought it was appendicitis; nothing was found in the 3 ultrasounds (with different doctors). the pain continued pain and after 6 months a doctor (specialist in endo) has found endometriomas (cysts that give pain) in my ovaries.
This is my case. I do not know if you have endometriosis, but persistent pain related to the menstrual cycle may be endometriosis and is difficult to diagnose because doctors never remember of that disease.
Endometriosis is a benign disease
