I can't help you with your question but was wondering where you live? LLiving on an island sounds wonderful. I'm in Colorado.

I've never been to Galveston but my in-laws lived on Padre island down near Corpus Christi. They passed away some time age but I really miss the vacations we took there. Our kids all learned to swim there. You are in a good place I think...being on the island.

Hi, I'm taking Urso and I'm fine now. When I first started I was very sick on it. I found taking it with my main meal in the evening made me sick at night but I now take it with my breakfast and again at lunch. Feel great now and my itching has almost stopped. I have never taken tricor so can't comment. Hope that helps 😀

Hi Pamela,

I have been taking urso and fenofibrate for over 18 months now. I have had no side effects at all and my liver function tests responded very well to adding the fenofibrate.

Best of luck

I have been on URSO and Trilipix (fenofibrate 134 mg) together for almost a year. I have had no issues tolerating these meds and my liver function tests were good last time . Due for next round of lfts end of month.

How much Urso dosage do you take? And is 134mg the recommended dosage for fenofibrate?

LKoewler profile image

Fenofibrate dosage is what I had been prescribed for cholesterol/triglyceride issue before I was diagnosed with PBC. I take 2- 300mg URSO tablets in am and 2 tablets after dinner.

Great question and following your post. I see mi GI doctor tomorrow and wanted to ask him if I could try it. I am currently on Urso and Ocaliva. Ocaliva makes me itch it's terrible. Prior to Ocaliva I was on Urso 3 pills a day. It stopped the itch but my liver numbers still had not fully stabilized so when Ocaliva was FDA approved he put me on 2 URSOs and one Ocaliva 5mg. Is tricor the name of the manufacture?

Hi :) I take URSO for PBC (and Prednisone for AiH). I tolerate URSO well and so far it's working well. I take 2000 mg/day. At first, my body had an adjustment period when I started it - but I don't find any side effects from it now. I did have the constant side effect of Diarrhea for almost a year, then my specialist said to separate my dose and take half in the morning and half at night - and that helped a ton :)

Hi Pamela.

I also take Urso and Lipidil. Initially I have a very bad reaction to Urso. The doctor at the time prescribed 6 pills an day, all at once. I now take 2 at night and 2 in the morning.
