Update on my gastroenterologist results

Hello everyone, it's been a little while since my last post. Have had my Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy and pleased to say all the results from the biopsies came back clear. No coeliac or other bowel disorders, no polyps, just a few ulcers in the colon due to taking anti inflammatory for my back problem. The blood test taken for Coeliacs was neg and Intrinsic Factor came back negative, probably false! GP also did the ferritin and Vit D again which were both still deficient after 3 mths, so he doubled the ferritin and get this he said Vit D deficiency is a lifestyle thing and it's fashionable to take supplements!!! So didn't give me anymore. B12 bloods came back another 50 ng/l down, I told the consultant about this along with the others that had been done. His words " has your GP put you on B12" I said no, he was waiting for him to tell him what to do, consultant look amazed and said you should be on it as you have neuro symptoms! And that is down to you're GP. Saw GP again and he said when the report comes back and it is there in black and white we can discuss it. He wants consultant to take responsibility for B12 treatment, so still refused to give it to me. I told GP when leaving that I would be writing letters if I didn't get answers soon! He's unbelieveably incompetent. Anyway 2 days later got a text from surgery with a 5 min appointment to see him on Tuesday, your guess is as good as mine, either to discuss treatment or be struck off for being difficult lol. Sorry for the long ramble, it's 8 mths now and don't feel any better.

It sounds like your gastro is on the ball at least.

disgusted by the behaviour of your GP. Abrogating responsibility for any treatment to someone else doesn't really seem consistent with exercising professional judgement.
