Hi, Here's a follow up from my last post, my full blood results. I wanted to make sure that I am taking the right type of iron which is ferrous sulphate 200 mg (2 per day with vitamin c ) for my serum ferritIn levels which are at 46.
I don't really know how to read the full blood count results but any additional information / opinions would be welcome. As far as I know I'm not anemic but my serum ferritin can do with boosting. I am just concerned that I don't want to make any other iron levels high such as my serum folate.
Thanks for all your help!

I can't see any indicators of iron based anaemia in the results you have posted above.
Please be aware that too much iron can cause problems and ideally you should take medical advice on supplementation - though I note from your earlier post that you have significant trust issues with your GP. Sometimes pharamacists can be quite helpful if you don't feel you can speak to your doctor but ideally you should.
Ferritin is a protein that binds to iron so the body can process it so being low can indicate that your iron levels are low but it isn't a definite marker and needs to be interpreted in the context of other indicators.
Please note - I'm not medically qualified and the advice on this forum is no substitute for medical advice as goes for the other forums on Health Unlocked.
Please also note that although 'anaemia' appears in the title of this forum - pernicious anaemia is actually a specific auto-immune condition which leads to a B12 deficiency so the focus of this forum is B12 deficiency. Because PA is an absorption problem many members of the forum also experience problems with absorption of other minerals and vitamins, which includes iron.
Hi, thanks for your feedback. Also sorry I didn't realise that this was a specific Forum for another issue- though I do see the title now you've pointed it out! but have taken note.
Please let me know if there is a more appropriate place for my questions on ferritin levels/ my issue if there is one.
Thanks again for your opinions and I appreciate this isnt medical advice... thanks again!
Not a problem. hope you manage to get to the bottom of what is going on. There are a lot of people on here who have iron based anaemia as well as B12 problems. I'm not actually aware of a forum that deals specifically with iron based anaemias - I suspect that is because they are usually a symptom of something else - or lack of iron in diet.
You could try looking under my communities and at search communities and see if anything more obvious comes up there.
