You need to be eating some fresh fruit and vegetables for a start. Some goodness in those will help and buy some Tropicana pure orange juice .

See your doctor too.

Good luck

Hi. We are not able to give medical advice and what you are going through doesn’t sound great :(

We would urge you to keep in contact with your GP and ask them the questions that are troubling you. If you don’t feel comfortable asking the questions then maybe you could have someone with you when you contact the GP.

Hope things get better soon for you,

Iain

I get bad constipation. When its bad i take 8 laxido satchets mixed with a litre of water and that always works for me. Hope you feel better soon x

To have a normal bowel action you need to eat a normal diet. You would feel normal then too. Maybe you could start with small amounts and work your way up.

Hi, Dottilind. As a sufferer of constipation all my life I sympathise. However, by sheer chance I have discovered something that not only helps, but tastes good - the little sweets they sell in M&S food halls, by the till!!! They come in 4 different flavours - I especially like the rhubarb and custard ones! Take about 5 of them and you should have results in a few hours 😀 Let me know how you get on.

I recently answered a person here who also suffers from this unpleasant condition. I have suffered it since I had chemotherapy almost 10 years ago. The gastroenterologist told me that the only thing he advises his patients to take is milk of magnesia because, according to him, all other constipation medications may have bad side effects. I have been taking it for years and it has worked very well for me.
