Lincs Pain management changes

You may not know this as from May 2019 the Pain Management Services have been privatised. Pain Management Workshops are your first stage. I have just had my 22nd Epidural Steroid Injection and to be honest it is my last one. They work but you should only have a maximum of 25 in your lifetime (consultant informed me). So. it is all down to these workshops now. Has anyone been to one yet?

Yeah sorry what do you mean? What so the NHS now don’t have pain management teams?

Lincolnshire is subcontracting the clinic to connecthealth.co.uk read Richie 1268, spot on.

That's frightening, just when you think this government couldn't possibly make anymore cuts!

What I think you mean about the workshops is what I'm attending in September after attending a half day test session. It's a 10wk course run by the pain clinic, one per wk where they teach you how to manage chronic pain through breathing techniques,

tai-chi, yoga etc?

I need an Automatic vehicle and full entitlement as some get but the lottery that provides some with travel and the others with own means drain all of their finances. I lost a business because of the roads in this country are so badly maintained. Hitting a pothole and also a badly dropped road surface caused an old army injury to get worse. I manage my pain as far as I can take it, old age is no training run and pain is just weakness leaving the body, We are worn out from earning some well off people their retirement fund. Cannot wait till we have a better administration within this country. But by then the damage will be done. When the rich rats have all left this island of ours, we should do as Sailors did in the past, cut the mooring ropes and quarantine them from their money. Tonight my pain is bad, that is why I am so bitter tonight. My left leg is so bad that I doubt sleeping will be easy tonight. Cocaine seems to keep the stones rolling, chemical preservation anyone?

Private NHS that does not exist? So, this is the answer we are going to think away from the pain. Tried to mark the webpage and it does not work. Something is stopping it linking. But private transport, cleaning, catering, agency nurses and doctors and now the patient care are all done by subcontracted firms. So, what is left?

Laundry and Gardening. I think the porters still work for the trust.

Depends on your area, one of the trusts in our CCG area subcontracted all the non medical staff to a private company.

Well you heard Trump. When we leave the EU and have a trade relationship established with the US he wants the NHS. So if this goes ahead and the big corporations move in unrestricted we will get the dreaded US system where it depends on the amount of money you can afford on insurance what healthcare you get.

I imagine most health insurance providers would exclude pre-existing conditions, too. It's a terrifying prospect, isn't it.

I will move to Canada if that happens I can’t afford everything I have now if it goes private lol I’ve been in hospital a month and got here by ambulance and have medication 4/6 times a day sometimes more and at home take 3 different tablets a day can you imagine the cost and I’m only 28 and I can’t work because I’m bedbound 😂 oh this country would be a sh*t show if they did that

Canada is all insurance based as well but is very efficient there. Lot better than the US.

waylay in reply to Emma2017

Nope, it's much like the NHS.

Emma2017 profile image
Emma2017 in reply to waylay

Really? I have relatives there who say it’s very fast and efficient.

waylay in reply to Emma2017

Dunno how efficient (it varies by province, too), but it isn't insurance-based. Single-payer, socialised. People do get extra insurance on top though.

Fine if you have a chance at being employed, with all the BS laws passed they still are not going after enough employers that blatantly flaunt the percentage, disabled staff laws. We are used as Human Resources.
