BRCA 2 positive and 2cm ovarian complex cyst

Hi everyone I am writing today because I had been having some bloating and a slight discomfort on the left side for a few months now. I am BRCA2 positive and have a strong family history, I have had a double prophylactic mastectomy and tubes removed, however decided to keep my ovaries. I am now 46yrs old I had an ultrasound 2 x months ago that showed a irregular walled cystic lesion with septation, plan was to repeat US 2 months later and its now a minimally complex cystic lesion and has only grown a small amount but has changed in appearance. Due to have a full hysterectomy and oophorectomy later in the year and having my CA 125 tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone out there had a 2cm ovarian cancer picked up or a raised CA125 from a 2cm ovarian cancer. thanks so much for any input

I am BRCA negative. My CA125 was raised by a 11mm cancer in my abdominal nodes indicating my first recurrence. It was a wait and see situation and the cancer remained stable for several months. It has now started to grow and I am currently undergoing chemotherapy and my CA125 is beginning to decrease. Sending you best wishes for a positive outcome.

CA125 is notoriously unreliable and can be raised for many reasons other than cancer. The scan results are much more informative. However, the only truly accurate diagnosis is pathology after surgery. With your family history, you're definitely better off having the surgery. I had a 15 cm cyst at diagnosis, up to 17 cm by the time I had my surgery. Still here 19 years later!
