Sitting at my computer doing various things waiting for the time to pass to go to the surgery for my blood tests. Happened to glance at the clock on the computer which told me it was 11.35 when my watch was saying 10.34!

Absolute panic as appt was for 11.20. I have never missed an appt before. Immediately rang the surgery and explained and they have re arranged my appt for Thursday at 11.40. So will have to eat humble pie when I see the nurse.

Can only assume it is because I am cold although it is warmer here today (relative terms - it is 5 degrees instead of 2!). Yesterday I went to work and the heating had been off over the weekend so the office was very cold. Sat with my coat on. My 12 noon appt failed to show up - no phone call to explain. So went home at 12.30 and had some soup. By then, was so cold every joint let me know about it and it took until 4.30 in the afternoon before I warmed up. It was bone chilling cold and I could not stop shivering. So thermals on today and my nice warm jodhpurs.

Chiropodist this afternoon to sort out my painful feet. Have now made sure my watch tells the right time. Sometimes the winder pops out and it gets caught on jackets etc and turns the time back or forward. Usually I notice it but today I didn't except to think the morning was going very slowly!

Now have to go out and get my prescription for my asthma inhaler and collect the rest of my MTX from the chemist - they had to order it in. Then I think it is time for some coffee to warm me up. The heating is on but my feet are freezing.

Hope you are all keeping warm particularly everyone in Scotland who have had some terrible weather. Happy Christmas. Love Lavendar Lady x

I too am cold here in the midlands. Its very cloudy and dull here. Am feeling pretty ropey today, didn't sleep very well again. This chest infection is not nice. Its the first one i've had since i got ra, so i've had a good run for my money.

I think i would have gone home if they hadn't got the heating on. The warmth is vital to you to maintain the status quo for your health. Lets hope it doesn't make you any worse than you are at the moment.

Take care and keep warm.

Hi Sylvi, the heating did come on at the office but having been so cold over the weekend, it took several hours to start warming everywhere up. But I am still frozen today!

Just been to the chemist to get my prescription and some shopping from our local Tesco express. Got back and just getting out of car at home, when my neighbour popped up behind. I nearly died of fright! He was letting me know he was away overnight picking up his wife and daughter and a new puppy., A black labrador! So a friend for Berry I think. I just knew he would succumb to getting a puppy as his little girl has been on about one for ages and his brother in law's dog has had pups. Love Lavendar Lady x

love puppies and kittens trouble is they grow up. I'm cat sitting at the moment with buster, hes a lovely old cat he lets you know what he wants when he wants it. My neighbours have gone to the states to visit their son for xmas. He is a lovely cat and i will miss him as much as they will when he goes.

I can't understand them turning the heating off at the weekend, surely they can turn it down to minimum so as to keep it ticking over.

A balmy 8 degrees & rain here in Dublin.

Had to laugh at you missing apt, these things happen occasionally, and we can't believe we did it. Its like turning up a day early, so weird but it does happen, especially to the normally consientious.

Hi Lavender Lady I relate entirely to this feeling of both forgetting appointments and to feeling deeply chilled despite heating et al. I'm the same just now although am usually an all over boiler and hubby often has to warm up feet or freezing hands on me - ugh!

I've always been warm blooded and my body still feels warm to the touch most of the time but I find my hands in particular and the rest of me too are feeling so chilled this winter. I mean it is cold outside but not so that I would normally feel it but now I need gloves on 24/7 - so unlike me! So I conclude it must be either the RA or the meds or .. perhaps most likely of all..something menopausal.

And it's meant to be warming up here this afternoon too just as my son comes back from uni. Great stuff compared to this time last year where we were all snowed in and he only just scraped his way home to a winter wonderland! Pouring with rain here though. So here's to keeping warm.TTx

Hi Tilda, No I am usually a cold person - it is hubby who gives out heat like a furnace. Warmer today at 6c and supposed to go up to 12 or 14c by Friday - I'll believe it when I see it. It is still very wet and drizzly here and everywhere feels damp. House is nice and warm and the office today was also warm.

I use gloves only in the winter or if we get a really cold day in the summer. My hands are usually fairly warm but feet are freezing. I reckon it is a combination of the meds and RA. Got to blame something! Love LL x
