Wendy, I find at that time of day I am the complete opposite to you. I am normally roasting hot and no one else thinks it is hot indoors

Hello
Sometimes I have cold feet and hands, seems to be poor circulation so I warm the joints in warm water that helps for a time.
My feet actually turn blue and sometimes the joints also seem red and sore, So I can quite understand your problem.
On occasions after I have been out in the cold I feel the redness of my toes seem like frostbite so I warm up for a while and use a foot spar with massage that seems to help me. Sometimes I also use this bit of kit on my hands
One of the other ways is a hot bath or shower, if you have a shower head on the bath taps use the shower head on feet and hands, the water action sometimes seems to make the blood flow better
Good Luck

Hi nelysgran, I know where your coming from I feel like that a lot to my finger nails go purple and so do my toenails I feel so cold all I want to do is go to bed as the tiredness normally follows the cold feeling. xxx
I get cold and tired in the afternoon, I usually take myself off to bed with a wheatie. xx
Thank you all for your replies, at least I know i'm not the only one.
my feet get so cold they hurt , Wheaties are good , then at night they burn , one extreme to the other , never comfortable.
Hi! I am hot most of the time even with the air conditioning blowing at me at 68°. The one time in the day I get so cold, even my bones feel cold. The air conditioning off and it's almost 80° in my room and takes about an hour so To warm up and my body temperature is a degree and a half cooler than normal temperature. I wonder if it's the meds we are on?
im always cold , sometimes i feel like even my bones are cold xxx
Hi Nellysgran.
Yes I do feel cold in the afternoons, in fact I feel permanently cold. Before I got this problem (I'm being polite calling it 'this problem') I was always hot. My husband used to joke saying that I would be happy living in a fridge, now no matter what I do I can't get warm. Last summer when people were saying how hot it was, I felt as if I was an oddity as I was still wearing a cardigan. I've even taken to wearing bed socks. So no, you're not on your own.
Yes, same problem for me, less so now the weather is turning a bit, but would have really cold toes and had to wear think socks, sometimes two pairs in bed as well. Often couldn't get to sleep. Hands also as some of you have mentioned, tips of fingers going purple. So do you think this is associated to RA, when I asked my RA nurse, he said no. But I do feel because of the coldness the pain is worse especially when I accidentally knock my hands against something, when they are cold the pain is quite severe.
Next time you see your rheumy ask about Raynaud's phenomenon, as it might well be that you have a touch of it - essentially poor circulation especially hands and feet. Apparently it can occur as a result of RA. Not sure if there's much treatment tho' for those of us already on lots of meds.
I get cod feet and hands it is Raynauds and I take Nifedipine which helps
So I know this conversation was awhile ago but I’ve had the same problem for years. Temperature wise I would say I was normal to cold but in the evenings before bed I’d get extremely cold. My nose, hands, feet, ears and everything else was like I was in the Arctic. I would sleep with about 4 blankets on. Then around 1am is wake up sweating and very hot. It’s like my temp went back to normal and I had way too many blankets on. Anyways... I stumbled across a complete cure with allergy meds. I’ve had allergy’s since my early 20’s but nothing major. I started suffering from insomnia a few months ago and Tylenol pm (Benadryl) was the only thing that helped and the cold went away. Still not sleeping right but the cold is gone. Weird. Hope this helps someone out there.
I’d say I definitely feel the cold more than most, and not every day but at times I feel almost shivery like I am cold inside, but my skin feels warm to the touch....but no actual fever is present...
At other times if I’m sitting typing on laptop or something I’ll notice my hand feels extremely cold especially the fingers.
However, once in bed I get so warm my husband calls me a radiator 😂 it’s like my body can’t regulate itself or something....
one extreme to the other!
