Just gone down with my 3rd cold in 6 weeks. Coughing and croaking, been sick several times as well, awful stomach ache, headache and lost my appetite. My immune system really is dragging its feet now. I see my consultant soon so will ask if the increased dose of MTX is causing the problems. I have not been fully well since I had the infected wisdom tooth so do wonder if that has caused problems even though it is now out. All that poison running round the body couldn't have done much good. Due for MTX on Wednesday and Enbrel on Thursday so will see how I go before taking them but don't really want to go back into a flare just as it has settled down again.
Trying to keep warm - heating on etc, wind howling round the house and torrential rain lashing the castle windows. Can just see a patch of blue sky so hope it will come out better this afternoon. Will have some soup for lunch as well.
I hate this disease so much - oh to be free of it once and for all. Fat chance I should think. Suffering LavendarLady x

Oh my poor friend LL,you have been through the mill haven't you. I do so hope you soon start to your cheerful self again. You have had a very busy xmas haven't you? i wonder if you've got run down, it sounds a lot like it.
The wind and rain is howling round our villa!! I have been no further than the garage to check if my scooters are still working as i haven't used them since xmas. They are ok. I am at the doctors tonight to see what he has to say. I was down the hospital yesterday as i think i told you. Not sure yet whether he will give me more pills or not we will have to wait and see.
I am sending you happy and healing thoughts your way my friend.
Oh dear, you sound horribly low, so much sympathy. I hope your dogs are being properly comforting and helping keep you warm. When the weather's foul it really drags you further down doesn't it, which is rotten when having RA alone is enough to deal with. I think RA strips away a couple of layers of thick skin, and things that you might have previously been able to shrug off just really get you down and there's nothing you can do about it. But are you sure you've just got a cold as being sick & having headaches does sound as if there's something else wandering your body?
Hope you've managed to have a good rest this afternoon, and have something nice for tea. P
Can sympathise as I am poorly also at mo. I also hate ra at moment, as there does not seem to be any let up and it does not play by any rules, except for its own and then it likes to keep them to itself!
Get plenty of rest, wrap up warmly (its bad out there, very blustery).
Hi LL. There are some nasty 24 hour bugs going round at the moment.Thats the trouble with RA we never know if we're suffering from the side-effects of the medication, the actual disease itself or some new ailment which has nothing to do with either.
It seems to have been one thing after another for you recently.I spent most of New Years Day muttering the mantra 'I hate RA,I hate RA'.
Do take care and keep yourself warm and snug.Hope you feel better soon.xxx
For us - no decorations, a few strings of lights - but didn't bring in the tree, and didn't do presents at all this year - a sign indeed of the way we have struggled with RA this year.
Hi all, feeling better today but still croaking and think I am losing my voice (hooray says Hubby!). Now got earache as well which means the sinus on that side is blocked. Been out this morning to the post office in the next village and also to have my nails done. Felt good being out in the fresh air - at least the wind has dropped some but the forecast is more to come.
Our flag was snapping on the flag pole and I was afraid it would blow away but it seems to be in one piece and the flag pole is still standing.
Let's hope for a better winter and we finally get rid of coughs and colds.

Aw dear lady, that breaks my heart to learn you are suffering so. Yet, as with the rest of us, all we can do is stay in and stay warm, avoid crowds by all means. I do know it is going to feel like imprisonment after awhile of being shut in. Here it is called SAD : Seasonal Affective Disorder! It really is a malady. treated by turning on all the lights in each room, it's caused by lack of sunlight., treated also as a depression, so a mild antidepressant can be useful. And , having a hobby, painting, needlework, building birdhouses, etc. Anything to hold interest. Also reading, if that is enjoyable. Setting up parts of each day to devote to these things works well, so a person doesn't neglect household duties I am getting nothing done while pounding keys on a keyboard, except the lovely knowledge of all of you ladies just a stones throw away across the pond Hope and pray for sunshine and warmer temps!!
