Well, just about everything is ready. All the presents wrapped and most of them delivered. Just have to deliver one more. Xmas Cards went off on Saturday - last day for posting 2nd class and realised this morning I have forgotten two very old friends! Hubby said they weren't on the list but they should have been. We have been friends for more years than I care to remember - ever since I was 15 years old!
Ham for Boxing Day is in the freezer, sausage rolls and mince pies in the tins ready to eat. Family coming Boxing Day so also got in smoked salmon mousses and blinis with cream cheese and salmon on. Not sure yet how many are coming on Boxing Day - at least 7 of us and possibly 10.
Alabama Rock Pie for desserts + some individual desserts for the children.
Went to Thursford Xmas Show on Friday evening. Absolutely spectacular. All the cast are professionals and when the organisers are looking for cast members in the January, the theatrical agents are inundated with applications.
Many of the cast come back year after year.
Carol Service tonight at Anmer Church followed by mince pies etc at the club afterwards and we have a Jazz Evening there on Tuesday night - all to raise funds to renovate the 15th century bells ready for the Jubilee next year.
The Queen and the Duke have arrived at Sandringham but the rest are not coming until next weekend.
Himself has put the lights up on the outside of the castle and we are doing the tree tonight and the rest of the decorations when we get back from the carols. Had a lovely surprise yesterday,, an old friend telephoned me out of the blue - we are going to meet up in the New Year. We have been friends for 40 years and we may not see each other very often but we usually pick up the conversation where we left off the last time!
Woke up this morning with my left hand like a board it was so stiff. Feet very painful and knees acting up so is my right shoulder and the top of my arm. Stayed in bed a bit longer than normal and went back to sleep. I had already been up and fed the animals, let Berry out into the garden. Had been awake during the night so the extra hour this morning after I had gone back to bed was very welcome. Taken a Nurofen which is now working and my hand is much better now. Bitterly cold here with a heavy frost this morning. Himself has gone off to town to tin shake as his Rotary Club are doing a Santa Claus run in the town. A is dressed up as Santa.
I hope you all have a lovely Xmas and New Year and wish you everything you would wish for yourself. Keep free of pain and discomfort, get plenty of rest and just relax.
