Good morning everyone. Well how many of you are ready for the big day. All my presents are wrapped and bedrooms are tidy ready for son and his wife to stay. I have baked a nice cake this morning. No icing or marzipan on it as not everyone in my home likes it.

I have also cleaned the sink and window sill and cleaned the windows so at least you can see out of it. I am resting now i promise. I have done a bit and then i have stopped for a rest and then i have gone and done a bit more.

Still suffering with the old tinnitus. It has gone off twice this week. Once we had to ring the doctor and she rang back and was very helpful. Yesterday i manage it myself. I was sick as a pig, just as well i had not had anything to eat then.

The Christmas music is on and i think i will read the Sunday papers. Have a lovely day to one and all. Hugs to you all.xxxxx

Well it sounds like you're sorted Sylvi! The tree's up, the wreath is on the front door & the nativity is there in all its glory but I've put everything else away, I just haven't got it in me do any more. Still all the food to get, presents to wrap, in fact wrapping paper to buy so they won't be done til I get that lol! It'll get done before the day, I'm not going to stress about it.

You enjoy your day & relax now all is done. Put your feet up, you deserve it after the year you've had! x :)

I'm not big on christmas but I have made 20 mince pies today for a visit from my partners family - the young generation.

Can you pop round and spread some Christmas spirit here? I really must try harder as my younger children (12 & 14) are still into Christmas whereas my two older ones (24 & 26) are just into the parties. Make the most of your time now to rest until your family arrive and do accept offers of help - we are so used to doing things for them it is hard to take a step back and let them or ask them to help. Good on you Sylvi. I did that yesterday, it's Monday night here now. I am looking forward to the 29th if December when Christmas is over, I have put my husband on a plane to New Zealand for 7 weeks and I am not due back at work until the 5th. I bet you know what I will be doing for those days in between! hahaha

Harpy Christmas and a joyous and prosperous New Year

I am in Australia and yes I have BIG plans for those days before I go back to work, involving bed, lounge, bed, lounge. No cooking dinner, no having to do anything at all. I am on the countdown. hahahah

He is going for one of his grandsons weddings and holiday with his kids for 7 weeks. I didn't want to go for that long and I also didn't really feel comfortable staying in people's houses. I also don't have enough leave and what I do have I need for operations coming up next year.

Yes it is summer, but it has been a bit odd, not our usual heatwave a bit disappointing really. I will send warm dry thoughts to you!

Thats the trouble when you have to schedule time off to cover operations, which is wrong. We have sick leave over here so you don't have to lose your holidays. The weather this year has been so topsy turvey everywhere for some reason this year.xx

I do have some sick leave, but I like to keep some up my sleeve for those pesky lung collapses when I get colds or kidney infections where I end up in hospital for a week or any other number of dumb things that seem to happen to me. hahaha

Yes we had a very very cold dry winter and now a bit of a wet summer. Problem is it then gets hot and everything that grew madly dries out and we end up with bush fires. We have had a few bad ones already this season.
