Shingrix vaccine

Had my second jab for Shingles yesterday had no reaction to first one but as I write have been awake since 2.30 am feeling really “wired “ unable to sleep and fatigued headache, body bit achy, .lets hope tonight I can sleep. Thought I would share .

I didn’t have any reaction to the first Shingrix vaccine, but I had a bad reaction to the second one, like a bad dose of flu, fatigue, aching joints, a bad headache. I spent 24 hours in bed!

I was the other way round, the first Shingrix wiped me out but the second was not as bad. I suppose it will also depend on how your general health and other factors are at time of the inoculation, e.g., if you are recovering from a viral infection or harvesting one, etc.

The vaccination centre offered to give me my 2nd dose when I went for my spring covid vax, but I said ‘no thanks, that’s too much overload at one time’ and booked a separate date for the 2nd one. I am glad I did as I am not feeling so good at moment with anaemia (Hb 106) and kidney function drop (eGFR 57). Waiting to get repeat bloods done mid July.

I hope it only lasts overnight, hubby and I both had the two doses and only had a sore arm but defo worth it rather than have shingles.

I was exactly the same & it lasted about 3 days.. good job we only need it once 😃 (& less painful than Shingles)!!!!xx
