I see after 6weeks on a carnivore diet Adam is seeking biologics while he still seeks a natural cure. People still offering him quack theories and treatments. Not sure how many dmards he was on but don't think he was on anything for long.

I hope his rheumy can put him on a biologic or another med if he’s not tried a second dmard as yet as well as Mtx. I’ve not followed this guy tbh, only just seen what people posted on here before . Hopefully things will soon improve for him, but the meat only diet wouldn’t seem to be a good thing long term. Good luck to him.

He still seems to think the meat diet is good but not for his inflammation think he took methotrexate and tried sulfa but very short period and steroids.

Then I hope his rheumy will put him on a biologic if he’s had 2 unsuccessful dmards and that it gives him the relief he’s been waiting for. (All that meat can’t be good.)

Well you know often times the drugs don't work either for a good many people. Some folks also experience life threatening side effects. I Hope this gentleman will find something that helps him. It's a grim affliction that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies.

I'm mostly very low carb on account of drugs causing issues (I tried many!) for long periods of time too. I won't lie and say it's a magical cure. I do still have some pain, and need to rest frequently, but there has been no further damage, and bloods are normal. No side effects. For the time being at least, I'll stick with it.

No just honest.

Yes, but it’s hard for anyone even if he’s not being sensible. Hopefully he’ll learn from an expert and not publicise his own attempted cures. It seems typical of someone looking for an alternative, non RA medication cure.

steroid injection wore off !!

Foreseen by many on here . Up to him what he does but is a danger to those who are influenced by him . People listen to him rather than rheumatologist. Doesn’t help us when people are dismissive about this disease in the first place .

I hope people don’t listen to him re an all meat diet, but I understand there was a doctor at his side on thr TV programme (This Morning?) .. I don’t watch it so can’t say … and the doc was pointing out the pit falls of doing an all meat diet. We know when meds don’t work you can get desperate. Too true re people being dismissive. Maybe he’s finding that in his own like of work. Hope all is well with you.

Hi NK you know this disease up and down like a mad woman’s drawers.

I saw the interview and the frustration of the doctor. She said she had explained to him the realities of his diet and the complexity of the disease but he wasn’t having it . I think it was a friend of his sisters who said there was scientific proof it works and he was proof .

How you doing these days?

LOl made me laugh! I think so many of us on here do! That doc must have been so frustrated that he was trusting a non medical person. 🤦‍♀️ I am doing well, thank you with the RA. How are you?

I’m ok bad days now and then but controlled generally hit a brick wall now and then . It’s the bedfellow that’s flooring me Fibro!! Just can’t get a handle on it . Meds changed stronger which means I sleep a lot more . Told body needs to adjust so let’s see .

Best but Nuala (new dog) cuddle monster 🥰

Aww I’m glad you’ve a new pet in your life. I’m a cat person and would love another. Sorry to hear about the fibro. I hope it can keep a low profile and not be interfering all the time. 🥰

I agree. People will grasp at anything they think will help without having to take meds. I am an ‘older’ person and would say I should know better, although I have never actually done the Carnivore diet, it’s easy to be taken in by these things, A friend sent me a link to a Michaela Peterson video, it was very convincing to hear her talk - but luckily enough MTHX and Sulfasalazine work really well for me 🤞so I’ve never felt the need to try something different. Years ago a relative said to a heavily pregnant me, on giving birth, take all the pain relief you are offered 😂 and that’s the mantra I’ve continued to live by.

Guess he’ll do what he feels might help him and not take meds, as so many people have done trying alternative (not unsuccessful) methods when they are relatively new to rheumatoid/psoriatic. Hope he finds a rheumy he takes notice of and connects with. 🩷 I am 65 and had RA since I was 35 and sometimes you see someone who wants to do it their own way and you know it’s going to be that they’ll be back to their rheumy eventually wanting meds, but they often need to discover this by themselves. x

But no doubt h was paid handsomely to appear talking about a controversial subject .about which he obviously knows very little.

No one I have spoken to has any idea who he is…so hopefully not too many people will have been influenced by him?

Seems the hardest thing about this condition is accepting what it is , how it'll change your life, how you'll grieve for your pre RA life, how many kind souls will misguidedly suggest even tell what to do about your illness and life.

This process is unique to us all. Hope in the mean time he's not getting damaged joints etc.

Totally agree he needs a good person to help him with acceptance and tell him how it is unless he his not listening

I’ve only seen him on morning tv when Dr Zoe through gritted teeth was very polite but made the point she wished him well but his diet was not to be recommended and she’d speak to him privately about the informed advice he’d been given by a scientist friend! No doubt it’s got him a bit of attention though.

I think he’s sounding desperate and I’m genuinely feeling sad for that but glad that doc said she’d speak with him re his info and advice he’d been given. Someone with knowledge needed to do that to him as so often newly diagnosed people think can do certain alternative non proven things to cure RA and psoriatic arthritis. (I did but soon realised.) How are you today? 🩷xx

A lot better and good news the hyperkalemia is waning so no blood test next week. And no threat of hospital either. Odd how you can have something life threatening and not know! Perhaps just as well? At least it was a routine G F R and RA blood test by coincidence that picked up the problem. How lucky was I that it did or I’d just have blamed the RA meds and ignored feeling just a bit more tired than normal. My husband has been to UCH in London a specialist heart clinic and had a clinical procedure ( blood test). LOL . He’s been referred by his local consultant from Kings at Medway as UCL are doing research into bottom of the heart things. It’s got a huge name and his blood is going to America. The Brigham Young Hospital who are looking to isolate and maybe cut the gene that is now believed to cause the problem. He’s told me that his consultant recommended he plays golf at least twice a week to stay fit ! So how are you ?xx
