Hoping everyone is as well as they can be; especially during this crazy weather!
Tomorrow is my surgery for my ankle replacement and heel fusion. I also got the date for my next wrist/ pelvis operation which is 31 March. Beginning to feel like I’m in an assembly belt! However, I thought that you had to have 12 weeks between any operations? Does anyone know if there are such timescales?

I’m not sure about joint surgery but I had hysterectomy then 2 weeks later had my gallbladder removed. I had no problems apart from my hair which was damaged. Hairdresser said it was because of the anaesthetic x2 so close together 🤷♀️. Good luck with your surgeries
Wishing you all the luck in the world. 💐 sorry to be annoying and not be able to answer your question but wanted to say that I’ll be thinking of you. Hope all goes well and that your recovery is as speedy as can be.
Just seen your post Marie, wanted to wish you all the best. I would definitely check about another op so close to be on the safe side. For now just concentrate on this one and a good recovery. Take lots of care. X
I think my biggest concern would be recovery from ankle surgery before wrist surgery. I’m currently 10 weeks post calcaneal osteotomy and mid foot fusion. I’m still in a moon boot and only partial weight bearing. If it were me I’d want to be steady on my feet before contemplating wrist surgery.
As an aside I’d definitely recommend looking into hiring or buying a knee scooter if you haven’t already. It makes life so much easier when you are non-weight bearing after foot surgery.
As it stands, I’ve just heard there’s been a major incident and now a likely shortage of beds so they’re cancelling surgeries left, right, and centre. Just waiting to hear whether mine will go ahead or not
By now you may be in surgery or have had it delayed - either way, best wishes. As for 2 ops so close, I imagine the date for the second op is an admin thing - Im sure the surgical team will decide whats best - they want good outcomes for their own records as well as your mobility
I had 7 eye ops over a 2 year period, one was 5 days after the previous one. But I think they prefer to have at least 2 weeks between them. I'm not talking cataracts here, but a corneal graft, also had my eyelids stitched together (on a local anaesthetic)!
Thank you. As it stands, there apparently been a major incident and there are no beds in the hospital so we’ve all had our operations cancelled! Now to wait by the phone to be advised as to when to go back in.
backHope it all goes well when it finely gets done.Let us know how it all goes.I was offered this a while back but did not know anyone who had it done hope you get it over soon
