Well today I’m going to hospital for facet joint injections into my spine hopefully to help with the pain I constantly have. My Rheumatologist suggested this & referred me to the pain clinic who took a look at my MRI from 5 years ago & said definitely yes it’s worth a try. Has anyone else had these please just wondering what to expect I’m rather apprehensive. My appointment’s not till 2 & I’m already starving 🙁

Facet joint injections
I can't help you I'm afraid Otto but I wish you well with the injections and hope that they have the desired effect. 🤞 x
Hi Otto , i had facet joint injections a couple of years ago , i was a bit nervous but they were ok . They did work a bit but I in my case i eventually needed disc surgery . I hope it all goes well for you and they are successful 🤗
Thanks it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I had expected. 6 injections done in about 10 mins. I only had a small amount of difference last night but more relief today. I have to keep a chart of pain levels for a week. X
I had facet joint injections many years ago (about 20). It was uncomfortable and I didn’t get much relief from them and I ended up having surgery to remove two discs.

I hope your appointment went well. I do have synovitis in my facet joints, but the pain is not too bad at the moment. Steroid injections were offered, but I've put them on hold for now.I am very interested in your experience today.
Thanks it was all so quick due to COVID they said. I had 6 injections 3 at each side they only hurt for a second & not bad at all. The local hurt more than the injections. Quick 15 mins in recovery & that was it. All done in an hour. Rather like a conveyor belt! Now keeping a pain chart for a week. I have a lot of degeneration in my facet joints & lower back. If this works they then do it again & burn the nerves which sounds even more scary. X
Thanks for the update, interesting and so pleased to hear it wasn't to painful. I do hope you get a bit of a run of success. I'm having a micro decompression on 13th July, it has all happened so quickly.
Good luck hope it goes well for you. I found it wasn’t as scary as I had expected. I think it’s the nit knowing what to expect & the fact I was only 6 weeks on the waiting list all happened so fast. Let us know how you get on x
I've been given a surgery date 14 days after being seen by the neurosurgeon, and had to immediately go into self isolation. I'll use the time to prepare myself for surgery.
Bless you. Stay positive. 🤞they don’t cancel after all that isolating. The hospital rang me 2 hours before my appointment & my immediate thoughts were oh no! But they were ringing to ask if I could get there earlier as they had had a few cancellations. I hope all goes well xx
Hope it continues xx
