Today is the 3rd day without the nicotine quick mist ... it was the only nicotine replacement therapy that actually helped me not crave smoking. However it became highly addictive for over a year, actually probably longer than a year. The first couple of days I have felt so angry, rageful ..... my reaction to things have been out of character. It’s easing off. Has anyone had a similar experience, any advice? Apparently 6% of people are likely to get addicted to replacement therapy, hand up .....that’s me !!! I think I am cured of smoking actually so that’s a positive bonus.
Today is my 3rd day without the Nicotine qu... - No Smoking Day
Today is my 3rd day without the Nicotine quick mist spray, I am trying to stop it for good, I have been rageful ... easing off, evil stuff.
I’ve read posts in the past about how addictive the mist is! Well done on choosing to stop.
I don’t really have any advice but I do know it takes roughly 72 hours for the nicotine to leave your body.
Also your blood sugar level drops and this can make the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal worse.
Try drinking some fruit juice and hold on, you’ve got this x
Hey Murphy,
the withdrawl I had from the patch was absolutely awful, as bad as the first week I quit smoking and I hear the mist is even more addictive. I think the advice from Atta about drinking fruit juice is helpful - wish I had known that. My main advice is to just put up with it until it passes. It's really hard. I know! But it's the nicotine! It's withdrawl! Even though it feels like it will never end it will. It's the only way, you just have to hold on to your marbles and go through it. Also walk, drink water, deep breathing, you know the drill. I will be thinking of you and wishing you luck.
Thanks KatNL good to know someone has your back ... I have beaten the mist but am on the patch 🙈.... that will be gone too as soon as I can muster the courage to let that go too .... thank you for the encouragement...
It's all fear that's been instilled in us ...I had a huge job making the leap and letting go .The sooner you get nicotine out of your system the better . Rip that patch off and regain your freedom !! 😀
Thanks Babs_B only just saw your response... new to this site ... yes I am prolonging the ripping off moment... it will come ... I have stopped drinking 33 months off in the last 3 years ... smoking for a long time ... I tend to replace my addictions with other ones ... no surprise lol. But I know my methods and it’s all about timing, strength... getting my head around it .. not feeling deprived anymore... etc etc. ...you are right though ... it is amazing once you feel like you are free ... soon these patches will be gone ... too.
Welcome Murphy2019 - congratulations on now hopefully 1 month quick mist free?
How are things and you getting on the patch?
Hey Roisin01 ... good, the patches are doing their job.....satisfying my reward for stopping the mist, which had a much greater hold on me .... and still does ....think about it still. It will always be a one day at a time thing with my addictions, sadly. All so silly. I envy people who do not have that addictive gene. Have a wonderful day.
Over 50 days smoke free now Murphy2019 - hope things are continuing to go well for you?
Yes horray to 50 days free from the mist... have saved a lot of $$ ... and better for it for sure. It was probably playing havoc with my already deficient autoimmune riddled body. So grateful for that today. Thanks for reminding me. 🙏 next the patches.... will begone too.
