I'm on day 9 of taking champix and still smoking. I was in 2 minds to plan a quit day as my stop smoking nurse said dont worry your brain will tell you but I'm worried what if it doesnt lol!
Then I thought if I plan a quit day am I more likely to start again because I didnt give champix time for me to dislike the cigs. I hope this makes sense!
I start my new job Monday and wont be able to smoke. The days are getting closer and I'm panicking I havent stopped. I wanted to be smoke free by Monday so i can enjoy my new job role not constantly moody and miserable clock watching for home time to have a cig!
Any advice would be appreciated!

Champix is a wonderful aid but will not tell your brain not to smoke...
Champix mimics nicotine, yes but does not make you stop...You must decide when you gonna stop completely,
I Quit on Champix almost 4 years ago on day 12 and never wanted to smoke again.
I was a hard 60 a day smoker and within that 12 days after commencing on Champix I dropped to 3 on day 11.... and day 12 smoked half a cig and that was the end...
Champix will make it slightly easier on the physical side but the physiological side is the hard one to overcome..You will still have all the cold turkey symptoms but the cravings will be less intense...
Get some herbal supplements to get the Dopamine (Happy chemical) flowing and you will be OK...
Wishing you strongs on your journey....it is amazing !!
I'm not sure why the nurse said just quit whenever your brain tells you? Most doctors prescribing Champix advise to set your quit day anywhere from 1-2 weeks after starting the drug. If you wait for your brain to tell you ... you might be waiting a long time, cuz our brains like to be tricksy little things, especially when it comes to addiction. Monday sounds like a perfect day to dive in. You can do this!!!
