I’m trying I had three cigarettes today, I’m disappointed in myself. I’m looking back and when I smoke and why. I know I really didn’t need them , it’s just that comfort zone for me. Hard to believe it made my throat hurt and stupid me I didn’t care I smoked it. I will try again tomorrow, and if the thought crosses my mind, I’ll remember what I did today and ask myself, is it worth lighting up, because no it’s not. Tomorrow’s a new day and I’m going to go for it again, I’m not going to beat myself over the head for today. I have to think really hard before I light up and remember I have to have control and that’s the only way I can do it.
Michelle..... I have read that tinnitus can "lead to insomnia, difficulty with concentration, poor performance, irritability, anxiety, and depression" because somewhere early in my quit I experienced a similar effect....and there is a lot of people suffering with tinnitus..
Luckily for me it passed....but was very uncomfortable...!!
Don't be Sorry...Prepare yourself ,go to the gym meaning, get information, learn to know the enemy... and tackle this bull by the horns when you are ready and fit..
Quitting is not easy but very possible....If you read Impossible correct it actually means ....... I'm possible.... you can do it..!!
Which causes hearing loss and Tinnitus, off balance.
I’ve had this condition for 20years.
Lost a lot of my hearing in both ears.
I have had stapedecomy to both my ears first operation was about 10 years ago, on the left year, which needed another op on due to the procedure not working, then 4 years later op on the right year.
Even though I gain my hearing back, The Tinnitus and off balance never left.
Had another hearing test last year, not a good result hearing to my right ear, has dropped, stapes has move. It’s only a matter of time before the left takes a dip. Don’t really want anymore surgery because of the complications one the two previous operation.
My ENT Doctor doesn’t really want to do it either.
So in the long term, I will be at some point permanently deaf.
It’s a waiting game.
Will continue to keep trying to quit, and be free.
Michelle ..Thank you for the information which leads to better understanding your struggles..Without sounding harsh, so is it that everyone of us has got a cross to carry, some really heavy like yours, and some manageable......
But I believe the purpose of this community is to help you carry and make your burden easier....I don't want to say I know how you feel because I do not but I can feel with you....
Hey michellesdeli46 , sorry to read of you smoking and of your very unfortunate illness. I can see your despair from it in your posts but also your huge desire to be smoke free.
The most important tool to have when we stop is the belief and positive mindset that you CAN succeed and never smoke again.
So, I would suggest before you start again, get the mindset that if you have a bad day with your illness or any other curve ball with life's daily struggles ask yourself (even stand in front of a mirror and say out loud)
"Will smoking fix this or make me feel better? "
Stock up on herbal supplements to help deal with the different feelings we experience when we stop. Your local health food shop should be able to advise and recommend to you.
Finally, when we stop, the body is truly remarkable at repairing and recovering over a very gradual period of time and very likely improve your illness not to get any worse.
We will be here for you when you begin again.🌻🌻🌻🌻✊👊
Finishing off the las of my cigs today. Don’t want any left in the house hanging around to tempt me. No more going sneaking off to the local shop to gets some.
Seeing doctor later to day to discuss Tinnitus and vertigo.
