Hi Lexree....Warm welcome...Yes, Champix can be very nasty although it is such a wonderfull aid to stop smoking.

I stopped from 60 to 0 on day 12....where on day 8 I was stil burning up 20 a day and from there the decline came rapidly. Day 10 was 3 and day 12 half a cigarette and from there, 2 and almost half year later NOPE.

Please remeber that Champix will not make you stop, you must stop and a fair target is 14 days (Can be longer) Set yourself a stop date ...

Try and continue with the two pills and make sure you have something to eat with the morning one....Supplement with vitamins and drink lots of water....

Champix mimics nicotine and your brain is now being battred with nicotine and the imposter (Champix) thus the headaches...It is like a night out and you smoked double...(Hangover)

The moment you smoke les the headaches will go away...and maybe the hot sweats..

Moodiness and being grumpy is normal quitting symptoms and ask your family's forgiveness in advance...

Wishing you strength and enjoy the bumpy ride...Strongs !!

Hi April. Iv just started taking the larger dose. I havent had the nausea or headaches at all. But can relate to being boiling in bed. Did feel abit spaced out when I upped the dose but it does go. Im hoping to stop smoking in the next couple of days. Have smoked loads less already. I know from previous attempts that I get abit moody and grumpy. So I take lavender kalms or some herbal tabs whatever are on special offer. Just takes the edge off quitting. Drinking water and lots of cranberry when you stop helps to flush out the nicotine and chemicals quicker. In the same boat as you. Give me a shout if you need it x

I'm taking Champix, I took them for three weeks before I gave up completely, you will gradually stop wanting to smoke, I'm just starting my fourth week of not smoking at all.

It's hard!

The headaches, nausea, foul taste in your mouth, insomnia, sleepy all the time & grumpiness are all systems of nicotine withdrawal, people not on Champix get them too, all of these symptoms come and go, you need to dig deep and get through them.

I didn't sleep at all for the second week, now I can't stay awake, I don't feel sick at all now, my cravings are still strong sometimes (I get cranky during these times) and other times I don't get any.

All I can advise is keep taking the tablets, they really do work, things will get better over the next few weeks. I cant imagine smoking again now, it's poison and it's disgusting.

Good luck I'm here if you need any more info on Champix.

I promise you Lexree , your body will welcome you stopping, it really is a mental battle not a physical one but so achievable - my hubby will be 4 years smoke free in May next year and was a 40 to 50 day chain smoker and nobody could believe he stopped. I followed him a year and a half later and now over 2 years free, I really believed and used smoking as my crutch to live my daily life - set your stop date and work towards that by preparing for it by adjusting and changing your routine, do up a to do list....
