Ive searched online but havent found anyone that has done this. I went today and joined the smoking cessation to quit vaping and to get on the nicorette inhalator for the 12 week course. Hopefully doin this 12 week course will now get me off the nicotine altogether. Simply because ive now realised i have substituted the cigs with the vape. Its still costing money not as much mind... but still.
Im also more dependant on the ecig. Find myself constantly holding it.
Im off the cigs by vaping over 4 and a half months and i think nows the time to work down properly and be free of nicotine altogether!!
I judt want to know has anyone done this or has everyone just used the ecigs?
Thanks in advance

Hey LeesaD - good to hear from you and that you are still smoke free, we have had a few members on here over the year or so. Unfortunately they got addicted to the inhaler and was worse than the cigarettes. My mother went on it but found it very hard on her chest and had to come off it. But, don't loose hope that this method will not work for you, stick to the plan and liaise with the cessation nurse especially if you have any issues - there was a member a couple of months ago that used it and is now 100% nicotine free if I remember correctly, will try and find their post and get back to you....
Thanks Roisin for the positive thoughts. Im going to give it a go. I have tried it b4 and always thought it was sore on thr throat too. But we shall see. I just want to be nico free at this stage.

Found the member LeesaD - it is Rivermum1 but haven't heard from her in over 4 months. Below is her replies to some posts on the using the inhaler:
Hello Leesa. I weaned myself off them by going down to 0% nicotine very gradually. Once I had been on zero for a few weeks I gradually started to drift away from the ecig as I just wasn’t getting anything from it. By mixing different nicotine strengths you can reduce it VERY gradually.
It’s worth considering doing this if the inhalator method doesn’t work for you. It’s always best to have a couple of plans in place!
It took me around 6 months so don't feel pressured...you'll get off them eventually, by whatever method works for you. Hope it all goes well.
Honestly giving up nicotine is so easy.... Just use the Alan Carr method, and you'll see nicotine for what it is, stop straight away and be happy about it... All this cutting down and subing one thing for another very rarely works... I mean the video is even free on YouTube, only takes an hour and you can smoke during it... What have you got to lose
Ive read his book but was never willing to stop properly but im going to give it another go now. Didnt know there was a video either. I agree that subbing one for another is stupid really cus where does the subbing end?? Thanks x
The problem with the book, it takes ages to read and there's a lot of fluff, you need all the info in one hit which the video gives you... the book didn't work for me at all, but honestly I smoked for years and years, watched the vid once and never smoked again... it's really powerful if a bit cheesy in it's production values Good luck! x

Welcome Hidden - good to have you on board with us here on our community, perhaps create a new introductory post sharing your story (how long you have been stopped, struggles, triumphs etc)
With regards your thoughts on 'giving up nicotine is so easy' - if that was the case nobody would be smoking! I too gave up cold turkey over 2 years ago, it was the hardest thing I have done but my husband gave up a year and a half prior to me and he was grand after the first week and found it so much easier
Everyone's way of stopping is unique to them and how they get 100% smoke free, didn't know about the hour long video either - definitely worth a look LeesaD .
It is really so much better than the book, which just blabbers on and on.
The video is straight to the point. Will it work for all. No I wish so, but of course that won't be the case.
Having said that though, while it is still on youtube do check it out! I saw it months ago and then after a couple of weeks it was removed due to copyright infringements etc. This will no doubt occur again this time around.
It may help you to stop now or at a later stage when the basics truths of the nicotine addiction trap will still ring true. As they are for me
Yes after a stop-start-stop-start period of quite a few months I was finally able to make the decision of No-More on 2 October
Today I have been smoke free for 75 days
I come on this site just about every day just bouncing off other people's posts & replies, which - without me ever having posted about my journey - are truly invaluable
Thanks for asking after me Roisin01! And thanks for all you do on this site!
Started with a 2-month supply, but because of my many false stops - from 1 to 2 weeks at a time - I wasted a lot of my tablets and would only have had enough for about 3 weeks this final stop. So I ordered another 2-month’s worth, but very quickly went to just 1 a day. I’m still taking 1 a day now and it’s worked so well for me!
Am looking to stop them soonish. Though I don’t get all the horrible side effects like I did from Champix (got so very down and as I’ve had major depressive episodes in the past - which thankfully is normally under control with meds - that was just too scary), Tabex does affect my quality of sleep.
Odd dreams, not nightmares like I had on Champix, and waking up to 3 to 4 times a night. Interrupted sleep like that for a few months in a row is zapping my energy .
Going to wait till I’m over the 3-month mark, because I’ve been there before and am very wary
Leesa, I followed a path similar to what Nozmo described. I only used e-cigs and periodically reduced the nicotine level until it was zero. I don't recall how long it took as I started the e-cigs when I was still smoking and would mix them. I was on zero nicotine for a few months. One day I forgot my e-cig and I didn't notice until I got home
It doesn't hurt to try different strategies. What nic level are you using now?
