Vaping, and help on how to quit!

I'm coming up to 2 years smoke free in June.

Now I need help quitting the vaping. I hold it in my hand, reach for it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Hold it while driving and while watching tv. It's worse than smoking.

I'm at the stage where im ready to drop it and quit it.

Anyone quit vaping, or any help or success stories at all?

Thanks in advance

Lisa

Hello Leesa,

I quit smoking by vaping as well. I've been off the cigs for over three years and off the vape for about two and half years.

What worked for me was a couple of things:

1. Gradually reducing the amount of nicotine in the e-liquid.

2. Cutting out the vape in certain situations and then adding more and more situations until they eventually all joined up and I didn't vape any more. First of all I stopped using it at work. This was relatively easy as I only had one break during the day where I could smoke. After that I stopped using it in the car...then stopped using it as soon as I got back from work etc etc. I can't remember the exact sequence after that but I basically picked the easier situations first and then built up to the difficult ones - like the pub.....and before flying!!! (I hate flying).

It took a while but it eventually worked. It worked for me anyway and I found it to be a lot easier than quitting the real things. I just sort of drifted away from it in the end. After 38 months off the cigarettes I still occasionally miss having a tab (north east of England slang for a fag) but I don't miss vaping. It's weird.

I think it's best to do this when you're good and ready for it....and do it at a pace that suits you. It sounds like you and jobm1 (Hello Jo!) are ready to try it so maybe give it a go?

Hey Roisin unfortunately I haven't started yet. And the reason being that I just haven't focused on it too much yet. I intend to though very soon. But I need to start buying the liquids in the correct manner! I'm buyin 18mg here and 12mg there, then back to 18mg. Need to get my a$@ into gear! :) thanks for checking in with me x

Hey LeesaD /Lisa and jobm1 /Jo, great to hear from you both and that ye are still going strong smoke free, well done! 🚭👏💪

As I stopped cold turkey, can't offer any advice on the stopping the vaping, presume you are both vaping with nicotine in it, if so, our Nozmo gave great advice on how he stopped in below post which may help....

Hey Rois, everythings good thanks for asking. Still vaping. But really hoping to get off them soon too. They are more of a habit than the actual cigs.
