After taking champix for less than two weeks I've managed to stop smoking since day 2 , I'm pleased and feel so much better but I find I'm being a bit grumpy I'm missing the cigs but not enough to smoke again. I don't want to be grumpy though so please tell me this low mood will pass?

Hiya Burgeb22, Big well done on your quit!! The low moods will pass, might take abit of time but you will start to feel better soon. I found walking really helped when I quit, even though I had to force myself sometimes when I actually went out I definitely felt the better for it. Stay strong 😊

Be kind to yourself. The moods will pass and people around you will understand. Hang in there and stay strong. You have so much to gain!

Great to read an update from Burgeb22 - I promise, this feeling of sadness will pass soon, it is a very common feeling at this stage and the mourning period - you are doing so well, stay strong and post anytime :)

I kept smoking from my children too. They don't understand my moods right now either. I was on champix only for a month because it made me depressed and have high anxiety. Still dealing with the anxiety. But it slowly getting better. I hope this passes soon. Also so tired of thinking about cigarettes.

Hi yes it's a horrible feeling being low having anxiety and trying to give up cigs, I often think should I just smoke again.....,,,but the answer is NO I shouldn't because smoking will only make me feel better for a few seconds then I will feel guilty about my health and hiding from the children the moods and anxiety will remain albeit slightly less but then I will have reduced my life by 10 years by continuing to smoke, which given the choice I feel I owe it to my kids to try and stay healthier. It's such a mixture of emotions but the advice I have been given has been great and it is getting easier so stick at it xx

I am doing so much better. No more depression or anxiety. Once the champix was out of my system, my mood changed. Still haven't smoked and I don't want to!!!
