10 weeks and still scared!

So, I gave up using Champix 10.5 weeks ago.

I've put about 16lbs on! I've now had to join Slimming World and start running!

I am too scared to think that I will never smoke again - I have to keep myself going by saying that it is only temporary, trying to convince myself that i will smoke again one day - mainly because I miss it so much. I don't think I will smoke again though, this has been too hard to give in now, I just get in a panic if I think 'forever'

Anyway. I need to lose the weigh desperately and so I'm focusing on that now, I get married 4 months tomorrow πŸ™ˆ

Great introductory post Pinkalot (love your username!). Yeah, that panic feeling is perfectly normal of the thought of never smoking again, but, the feeling will subside as time goes on and not hit in the pit of the stomach when you think about it.

Staying quit is your priority so try not to put too much pressure on yourself in loosing the weight, eating healthier, cut out the rubbish and a bit of exercise daily, nothing like your very special day to motivate you - ya will be the glowing bride now your smoke free!. Wishing you all the best in your journey and the preparations for your wedding :)

I hope that as time goes by, we will be glad we don't smoke rather than missing it, so perhaps you can tell yourself that you're going down a route that will lead to contentment and relaxation anyway. It might be hard though but I hope we get through it. Sorry for my bad writing style.

I've had a couple of people recommend Slimming World, I might join myself.

10.5 weeks is brilliant! I'm just coming up to four weeks this Friday and have found it very easy with Champix.

Although I'm not afraid of never smoking again, I still feel like a smoker... just a smoker who doesn't smoke lol, maybe thinking this way may help..?

I also gained a little weight but made myself snack on healthy stuff to avoid gaining more. If you have to focus now on your fast approaching wedding (congratulations)! and slimming down a little, that should help distract your thoughts from smoking so all good!

Keep up the good work and well done you!

Thanks all!! Whilst I can't think of 'never smoking again' I don't think I will !

I'm about to finish the C25K program this week and that has definitely helped ! Whilst I haven't lost weight yet through it, I don't think I would have gotten this far if I was a smoker !

Wedding is 4 months today, getting closer ! Thanks for all your well wishes.

I do hope that 1 day I will be glad I gave up :) I am mainly but I do miss it - just not enough to go back, hopefully ever !
