I haven't had a real cigarette since February but I've been using an ecig since then. After a bit of trial and error I found a type that suits me and I've found it easy not to smoke real ones. My long-term goal is to stop altogether, but at the moment I've got a few difficult things going on in my life- I haven't checked in here for the same reason. But in spite of having a few months of depression and being in pain with Rheumatoid Arthritis, I haven't needed to smoke even in situations where I normally would have. I don't use the ecig as much as I did and if I've left it in another room it's often hours before I go and get it so I'm optimistic really.
Hope everything is good with you guys and that you're all getting on well!

Great to read an update from you attatel - Terry and that you are still off the cigarettes, everyone's quit is unique to themselves and is whatever suits them. Keep in touch
Thanks! And thanks for the good advice. Best wishes, Terry
hi attatel
good post.
I'm still vapeing not all the time but like you I got other battles going on.thyroid issues and I'm sorry guys (some will know what I mean ) but I cant stop the weight Loss.im down to 7 and half stone.
Oh no! Thats awful! really hope you can get that sorted out. It's one thing losing weight if you want to, but at one time I went down to about 6 and a half through stress - I was only 7 and a half at normal weight but I lost every scrap of fat and looked dreadful. Now I only look dreadful because I'm just old and fat!
I really hope that you can get the thyroid treatment sorted out. I expect you're exhausted as well. Well done you for not smoking through all of that!
Look after yourself, Lizzy!

don't say old and fat.❓
I am tired.but sleep is a problem as well.😒
life eh.
we must be doing something good not smoking.
I'm sure i feel better.certainly tastes are better as are smells fresher.
I'm vape a bit now but mainly so I don't have another couple of hours smoking (I should be 10 month ish but had a fall.only 2-3 hours but still.
It's just one of those things, and i'm glad you're not getting too stressed about it. It's really great that you stopped again straight away. I don't think I'd have been as strong minded as you!
One of the things that's been helping me is that I've been clearing out 30 years of junk and decorating - with a lot of help, because my hands aren't too great.
I started because my entire street had a mouse infestation and I was desperate to make sure they didn't have too many nesting places. But everythings newly painted and no random heaps of stuff that no-one knows what to do with! And not having cigarette smell everywhere is so lovely!
Oh wow. Maybe ill ditch these patches and try one of those. Or do a half patch and ecig ???? 6 months is huge when ur battling the black monster. Hate him! Youre not alone though. I suffer too. It sucks. They can put a man on the moon but cant cure aomething as awful as depression. No wonder we smoked. Dammit.
Don't think both would be a good idea Kathyd7192 as could overdose on nicotine which apparently is not pleasant, rashes, headaches, extreme dizziness - maybe a trip to your chemist for advice on the patches and dosages etc.. or maybe start a new aid with the e-cig....
It really is the pits. Feeling a lot better now, thankfully.
I've found the ecigs work for me but I'm still on the high strength ones. I don't think youre supposed to use them at the same time as patches, though, as Roisin says. Wishing you all the best whatever method you decide on and thanks so much for replying. It's good to hear from people who are trying to deal with similar stuff. X
Also, why haven't those scientists got round to drugs that aren't bad for you? 😁
