Hi

I smoked for all my adult life I'm 55.

Hi

I smoked for over 40 years. Today I'm 31 days smoke free. I have tried to stop many times with no luck. I know I can't do it alone need all the support I can get. I welcome all advise.

Thanks

Welcome Road1 and congratulations on Day 1 or Day 31? (can you clarify for your milestone badges - either way huge achievement to be quit :) )

Are you quitting with an aid or cold turkey? I am over a year and a half quit cold turkey and I firmly believe I would not be here this far on in my quit journey with this supportive community here, stay close to us and post anytime, day or night, good or bad - there is always someone around to help....

I have put your quit date down as 07 March 2017, so that makes today your first big milestone of 1 month, huge congratulations Road1 - hope you are treating/treated yourself today :)

Keep in touch with us :)

Hello and welcome. I am nearly 47 and also have smoked for most of my adult life. Take it one day or even one hour at a time. Try not to think too far ahead at the moment. You will be able to do this.

Good luck and if you need support, post as often as you need to. ☺

Good luck! Remember that there are lots of good things in life and that any mood problems eg depression should get better after a little while.

I was so young when I started smoking I don't remember a day I never smoked 7 months since my last smoke. You have past some of the hardest days keep going it's so good to not need a smoke every waking minute of every day one day at a time .

Congratulations, that is awesome! Good for you...I am 23 days smoke free, smoked for 30 years but better late than never, I just turned 59. It is much better -- i feel better, i definitely smell better and overall, am glad that so far i am still not smoking. I don't want to get too big headed, the mind is powerful but one day at a time.
