I have a mood/feeling that is hard to describe but let me make an attempt - it's a bit like I'm constantly euphoric, constantly on a "fake" high since the feeling doesn't match my mental state, or what's happening as I go about my day to day life.
Work is more stressful than usual at the moment, but I have never been bothered about stress, being pretty easy going and optimistic by nature BUT being able to handle stress is completely different from actually rejoicing in it
At the moment I have a physical feeling of exuberance that seems to be out of sync with the reality that is my day to day life
I guess you might wonder what am I moaning about?
Well - I'm sleeping very poorly at the moment, so my head is really tired BUT at the same time my body is buzzing like it is raring to go - the mismatch is horrible!
It is almost like I have taken a pro-plus overdose. whilst popping feel good pills like there's no tomorrow! So it feels induced rather than real but is 100% exhausting.
Only change in my life is the recent switch from NRT quit to cold turkey quit so I wondered if anyone else had experience of this after flushing out nicotine?
Does anyone else recognise this?
And, if so, does it go away?

Hi Mina, I can't pass comment, how ever after reading your previous posts, it's so obvious to me, you have struggled for so long, and now you have managed to quit ct, that surely has to bring a eutrophic emotion, it's wining the lottery. You have achieved a great goal in your life, probably a dream for a long time!
Just sooo pleased for you, it's like you can do every thing, with out smokng.
Tracey - that's a bit like what my mates have said. that no matter what else is going on my body is rejoicing at the quit and my head will just have to catch up!
Yes, you have won a battle and rejoice in it, to believe that you can enjoy all that life has to offer without nicotine, is amazing, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is your for taking!
Just so pleased for you Mina:):)
Pent house is in the distance for you, but you can see the lights, enjoy your freedom my lovely

I wish I could help hun but sadly euphoric is not something I have ever felt whilst quitting! It could be you are overtired or as Tracey said maybe it literally is your body embracing the fact it is nicotine free for the first time in however long whatever it is, soak it up, it's better than feeling miserable and for the sleep, as always I advocate the Nytol herbal well done on your quit I'm really pleased you have found the method that works for you, good on ya xxxx
When you stop smoking I think the body goes into a sort of shock. It's hard to describe but the extra shot of oxygen that your whole body is getting, every nerve, muscle, skin, brain is kind of overloaded. It's not use to all that lovely fresh air.
I am also feeling strange and a bit hipper and not sleeping proper.
I suppose the bottom line is that following a quit our systems are all over the place and just about any physical or psychological symptom is possible at any given moment for a time at least. I know my GP said that in his experience it can take up to 6 months for things to settle down and your body to find a new equalibrium.
Having said that, why shouldn't you feel euphoric? You've successfull quit smoking after all and if you can do that (as the advert says) you can do anything.
Can't help you with this one. I get times where my body is sort of jittery and my mind is shattered, usually when I've had to stretch my brain and not had a a chance to do anthing physical like even go for a walk.
I go out for a long walk or try and do something to tire myself out physically. Hope you feel better today.

M Mina. the vast majority of what you are going through at the moment applies to me. I too have just come off of the last of the nrt 2mg loz I was taking and am now tech ct at 5 weeks. Lack of sleep. Brain dead. but body feels like it wants to go and go. Strange thing is im working it to death so to speak with all the training but as much as it hurts it wont lie down and rest. All feels very strange and as if im not in full control. Not something im used to but have no desire whatsoever to smoke so lets see where it takes us. Im all excited lol:D:D:D
