This will be the last take 2 day. Only got to day 3 last week. Not feeling too good today, I know I won't smoke but think it will be a struggle.

Feel unsettled and emotional. Just want to be left alone oh has gone out reckon he feels that's his best bet at the moment.

Had a craving for orange juice instead of coffee also have a craving for chocolate not given into that one yet as already overweight.

Hope everyone has a good day and be ready to celebrate with Kat tonight xxxxxx

Aww hun, I know exactly how you feel!!

It's properly rotten and you just want it to leave you alone *but* you know smoking isn't the answer which is fab - and heck you'll only have to do it again or not quit - and both of those options suck!!

Try to keep busy, chew things, suck lollies, heck even make fake cigs and pretend to smoke them (it works, you look a prat but it works) anything to make it easier :)

You can do it and it'll get better really soon!!

(((hugs))) xxx

Hi Gilly,

I totally second what Kat and others have said.

Take every opportunity to CONGRATULATE yourself on not smoking. This is VITAL!

Do this whenever you feel a craving. In fact, do this whenever you can. The brain is an complex beast, but the easiest way to change how it works is to confuse it :D

By continuously embracing your cravings, and telling yourself how well you're doing both during them and after they pass...you are effectively rewiring your brain's responses to them.

This might seem like BS hippy mumbo jumbo, but it is one of the principles used in CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy)...a technique called reconceptualisation.

You are doing really well, Gilly.

We are living breathing examples of people who have walked in your shoes...and we know exactly how you feel.

Have a great day :)

Steve

This! By the beard of Zeus this! look at craves as things you look forward to, laugh at and that you can control, knowing that nicodemon is losing power over you with every one which you beat (I am acutely aware that this is very difficult by the way, but if you do this, you have him BEAT)

Thanks all

Day not been too bad but have really strong craves and my mouth waters when I think I could have a fag. I won't though but will be glad when today is over.

I really am trying to be stronger than nicodem xxxx

Well done Gilly, keep sipping iced water, and keep up with the distraction, once you get these first few days under your belt it will get so much easier. You can do this ;)

You're soooo much stronger than him!!

You're much too strong a person to be ruled by some bits of ripped up leaf and paper aren't you?

Anything at all you can do to distract yourself, chew lots, suck lollies, drink water and listen to music :D that should sent the little b***ard running

((hugs)) xx

This is a great thing to think - you are doing very well. I think my day 3 was a bit cr*ppy and then day 4 was ok, or something like that. Either way though, not EVERY day will feel like this one. And actually, the more days you have that do feel like this, the more you get used to ignoring them, and therefore you end up having more better days (if that makes sense?!)
