My little App on my iphone tells me since I quit Ive gone 107 hours Smoke Free, have eliminated 112 cigs and saved £46.51 so far. Im so chuffed with myself and I think (although I may live to regret saying this) that its starting to get a bit easier.
I was in Sainsburys earlier on and walked past an elderly lady who was obviously a smoker and OMG, the smell of fags was horrendous. I would never have noticed that 5 days ago and I cant belive that I used to smell that bad.
I felt quite badly sick when I took my Champix this morning. This has never happened before. I hope its just a one off but even if it isnt I will happily put up with half an hour of feeling like I wanna puke if thats what it takes to help me kick this damn addiction.
Also got a bit of a sore throat this morning. Is that a side effect of quitting or the Champix? Anyone know?
What I would really like is to develop a really good rasping cough....I think I would find coughing up 25 years worth of crap out of my lungs quite a good motivator!!

Be careful what you wish for, lol.
My last smoking session was just short of 3 years - was smoking 20-25 a day come the end, anyway the muck I coughed up :eek: ewwwwwww
But yes it's a hell of a motivator not to smoke again.
Well the slightly sore throat I mentioned earlier on has now developed into a full-on dose of man-flu and I feel like dog-dirt!!
I wonder if its just coinscidence or whether quitting the fags has in some way contributed to me getting the lurgy
Cravings are still under control and its nothing to do with feeling crap...I used to smoke as usual through tonsilitis!!
Oh well.....Bring on Day 6!!
Aww that's a shame, you often do pick something up when you quit though - it's very common. I got a chest infection to go with my ex-smoker's cough (lovely combination it was too) and know you're more likely to get bugs.
Oh and the only thing that stopped me smoking was a really bad throat infection - then it felt like I was inhaling fire so had to stop, was the start of my last quit actually Any other time I just switched to menthols.
I think you're spot on about the diet Kat. I've got to get it under control or I am going to end up seriously fat. At the moment I've got a fridge that Willy Wonka would be proud of!
By the way Kat I took your advice and managed to pause just long enough from stuffing my fat nicotine starved face at dinner time to take my Champix this evening and no sick feeling. Result!
