i havent been on i wanted to wait till i got over the 4 days....before i told friends etc...didnt want to set myself up for a fall....
i am on day 5 gave up on friday night day 10 of champix....no cravings at all...i just feel the cigarettes are missing me and feel guilty that i have dropped them....like when you drop someone who isnt very nice and feel guilty because of the way they are, they may not have many friends, but you know they are evil lol iykwim.
have felt sick in the mornings especially when i started the stronger tablets (the blue) and dreams...wow never had dreams like it but day 15 now and if i eat tea and biscuits in the morning all is well...and getting used to dreaming.....champix has been a godsend for me.....my moods are fine...well i am a moody cow hot headed at the best of times, but no bouts of darkness...which is all good.
have been reading so many threads on here , thanks all for being there without knowing it.

well done you, feels great doesnt it? can't share views concerning champix, however it does seem to be abit of a wonder drug the way peeps talk about it on the forum, however don't forget its your willpower and determination that has got you to this point
thanks shabba, last time i gave up, which was for 8 months i cant remeber coughing up gung but i remember my skin being awful face full of awful spots...but this time i am really coughing up so much gunk(dockyard oysters to be precise)

Well done on deciding to quit and welcome to the forum day 5 is really good you are doing great I also gave up with the help of champix but don't forget as Shabba says that while champix is very good it is your will power that will get you there just hang in there
I am fortunate to not feel too many side effects, lots of dreams and night time waking but i am going bed earlier to compensate and taking herbal sleep aids.....
day 5 thanks to champix-Your title is a little incorrect, it should say Day 5 thanks to my willpower and determination with a little help using Champix

Shabba is absolutely right champix like any other aid to stopping is just that an AID by itself it can do nothing it takes your willpower to make it work
its a week now, and i had a bad day thursday, nowt to do with giving up the fags it was due to happen..bit of a meltdown....and i actually didnt think of having a cigarette i just thought is having a ciggy gonna make this go away...nope......so it was vodka and orange instead pmsl.
feel very calm if not a little detached from the world....
i know willpower is used but by god from crying last month on day 4 then smoking me head off again to the gentle unoticable experience the champix gives you, training your brain.....really couldnt have done it without...
thanks for your words....
does champix make you put weight on...i have noticed i am slightly bloated around the tummy (or maybe its the pies ) seriousley does champix cause this...
I don't think champix can make you put on weight I have put on a little but think it is more than likely that at least in my case I tended to snack more than normal certainly at the start I have just cut out cakes, biscuits and crisps things like that and now put a dish of fresh fruit and some raw veg like carrot and celery out in the morning so if I get the munchies I use them instead and it seems to be working as lost 3lb last week

i will cut back on my carbs....carbs are my downfall just need to get rid of the swollen gut look....cheers margaret
Agree, it is an excellent aid particularly given that when I tried to stop previously the cravings/withdrawals were something I couldn't cope with. For me it works well as it controls those leaving you with the habit to attend too. For me that's the easier part of the equation on Day 10 now and determined to stay healthy.
