Aw Nic
Now that has made me feel very sad Your pal will be away over Rainbow Bridge. I know exactly how you must be feeling, I in the past have said bye to two beautiful labs and I found it heart breaking.
However, of course when our beloved pets are poorly, we have to do the right and kindest thing for them however hard it may seem.
Well done for not lighting up tho.

So sorry that you are having such a sad event to deal with. I can only imagine how heartbreaking it is for you at the moment . Glad its not brought on any smoking cravings... you are spot on ... there is more to life than smoking.. we just need to keep on believing and living it .
take care
Donna
Sorry to her about your boxer 12 is a good age, I think that the show ones tend only to make 8-10.
More than anything else please take comfort in the fact that you have done the last good deed an owner can ever do, no matter how hard that decision may have been just remember the good times. In my household the dog is the only one that I know will be happy to see me, she will always be happy to spend time with me and if I go out without her she makes me feel guilty so I know how devistated you must be feeling right now.
For me grieving isn't the kind of situation which brings on a want for the smokes but it does remind you that you would have reached for them before doing anything else.
Since I quit we have had a cat PTS, and I've lost brother in law to cancer and a father in law to emphysema. At no point did any of that ever make me feel like I wanted to smoke, the only times I've fancied one is when I've had a heavy cold and my sinuses were blocked and the menthol fags I used to smoke would relieve the congestion and an occasional nostalgic pub garden type fancy. Neither of which was hard to resist.
Thanks for coming on and posting, are you considering getting another? They are super dogs, albeit I wouldn't trade my Lab for the world.
Sorry about your boxer,we are on our fith one ,and just love this breed of dog ,great that you have given up smoking for so long,I am jealous ,I am on day 15 ,and it's slowly getting easier,
Thanks for all the nice comments ,we have a puppy pug/boston cross (minature boxer) who is 6 months. I am considering another boxer as we love them so much we lost our first one to a brain tumer at the age of 4 that was so sad i thought i would be more hardened this time around but hey i am a big softy at heart .
At no point have i considered a ciggie the thought has not crossed my mind keep up the good work fellow quitters
