Im trying to quit smoking and sometimes I feel the need to talk about it, I think when I am really craving that talking about quitting helps it pass.. So hopefully this forum will be my best friend!
I am currently on my 9th day today, Ive been smoking for about 8 years... Starting about 10 a day, going onto about 20 a day..... and the last 4 years Ive been smoking rollies, and smoking around 30 a day... Mostly just something to do when I am bored, as I am often...
I feel really good about not smoking most the time, but when I crave.... I bloody crave!!
Ive read quite often that cravings are usually just 3-5 minute urges that simply pass, but these occur several times throughout the day but only last 3-5 minutes, well that isnt the case for me, I really wish it was!
I have been craving my ass off for a cig since about 1am, its now half 3!
When I crave, I really do crave and it doesnt go away for hours! Im using Nicorette Quickmist spray aswel as Nicorette 4mg Gum
I often feel like oh stuff it, Im just gonna smoke, it will be easier and I feel happier when Im smoking... Earlier on today (well last night) I was craving so bad in a friends house, moaning about it, my friend eventually gave me a cig and I had it in my mouth.. Pretending to smoke it, I had a lighter in my hand and I wanted to spark it up but funnily enough, I struggled to spark it up! I really couldnt do it, as much as I wanted too, I eventually threw the cig back to him and popped a Nicorette gum in my mouth instead..... yikes!
I think half of me is desperate to quit smoking, but the other half is 50/50.... But luckily so far the half thats desperate to quit, has won all the battles!
I just hate these cravings, wish they would stop.... As they last hours and I hate it :/ I was hoping they will eventually just stop, but from googling around, apparently the cravings never actually stop... and that worries me, as I dont want to live like this.... Id rather just smoke but at the same time I dont want to be a smoker, just wish I never started in the first place arghhh lol
Oh I did cold turkey btw, just finished my last bit of tobacco one night, then binned everything and went to sleep! Woke up and began using my nicotine supplements

I'm the same: 50% is quitting, the other 50% suddenly started believing that smoking was great. The day before I quit, I didn't think it was so great of course. Weird, no?
Visualise a fight to the death between the two. So far the non-smoker is winning! The longer it goes on, the easier it gets. Except of course unless you let the lie you tell yourself (that smoking was great) get larger and larger in your head.
As my partner said, "don't be such a wuss!". When a woman says that to you, well, it's very hard to ignore.
I bought some tobacco last night So far I havent enjoyed a single rollie Ive had though.. Regret it ofcourse, felt better not smoking, bleh. Will try again soon, without the supplements (gum, spray) this time though.
I felt bad I did, I was on my 9th day without a cig, but after reading Allen Carrs book he goes on about why the supplements are bad, and so basically because of his book, my 9th day without a cig didnt feel so good, because technically I havent gone a single day without nicotine have I, as Ive still been feeding the nicotine monster So I thought BLEH F*** it then, may aswel get nicotine properly
I will try again soon though like I said, without any nicotine
And Yeah I totally agree, we are very alike there. the 50% 50% thing.
Its 100% to quit before you do, then suddenly your right its like 50% of you tells you to quit then the other 50% misses the cigs and makes you think smoking is great

Even if you were using supplements in any shape or form you were still getting used to not smoking. Break that habit aspect and then work upon stopping the supplements when you feel able.
It's your quit and your journey to take. Take ownership of the way that you're doing it.
