6 . 20pm half way through my first day, yeah it hasn't been easy today, i bought some Niquitin gum this morning, as i haven't tried it before, i hated the taste, so i wont be using it again, i just think cold turkey is the only way for me to succeed, Hope I can keep this quit going this time.

Good luck to you! I tried the gum "once" also and it didn't taste good to me either. Used the patches several times and they do work, but this time I went cold turkey, haven't ever done that before and I'm on 5 and I haven't taken anyone out yet! But actually it hasn't been that bad, also reading the Allen Carr book but I had already quit when I started but still good reading.
I read a post on here recently and apparantly you are meant to chew the gum just for a few minutes, until it tingles and then stop chewing and hold it on your gum/inside of cheek.
Have you tried the lonzenger? i'm using them, but i just suck them for a couple of minutes and then take them out.
Remember the first few days are the hardest, am only on day 3 myself so know how you are feeling with you now being on day 2 ( by the time you read this)
I have found trying to avoid the triggers that set me off having a smoke, my biggest one is routine, so i have changed that completely and it has helped.
Have a read through the whole forum, there is plenty of advice on here and if there is something you need to know... post it... plenty of peeps on here have brilliant knowledge on how to help with near enough everything
