had last cig at 1am this morning...struggling a bit with fidgeting and wanting a fag...
what can i do to take my mind off this (sitting in my office all day doesnt help either)

try reading some or all of the links, picture yourself in the future happy and not smoking, and to a certain extent u just have to live through the first couple of days, it does get easier and u just have to remember that, and remember that u r not giving up anything and u r gaining soooo much.

As many will tell u, YOU ARE NOW A NON SMOKER, u became a non smoker the moment u smoked your last cig. you are also now more than half way through your 1st 24hours.
think of something to treat yourself with when u get home, or on the way home! get some of your fav food, drink, whatever and think what that will taste like now u r a non smoker!
LIFE IS GOOD AND GETTING BETTER.

I ate tictacs the first few days...........still do actually. I find they really clean your mouth and also the wee box you can play with keeps your hands busy.

And read read read, then go to woofmang, also consider a long walk when you get home and meaningless chores which can't go wrong. Don't try rewiring the house *blushes*

Well done for this great choice you have made and i say the same for myself and everyone else on this forum!.
The first few days are tough, although i did'nt feel that personaly but i sure the second day on but it's so worth it,!!
Try and take some good long walks, go swimming or pick up an old sport that you like doing, listen to some funky music and anything else that will make you feel good!.
Keep at it, stick it out and come back to read all the advice and help thats offerd.

good advice here. tic tacs are the shout though, have already sent someone out to get them for me
the main stumbling block for me will be playing golf, before if i duffed or hooked a shot...i would have a fag at the next tee, re-group, chill and take it from there...I need something new (thinking of playing golf with my i-pod in:D) is this silly??
or just chew gum?
Stop at the tee ...........flip your wee tic tac box have a tic tac before you know it you will be playing the next hole
As I said tic tacs worked for me...........I spent hours flipping the wee lid bit...lol and don't tell anyone but it reminded me of a fag packet........oopps

Sorry forgot to say I have about 6 boxes on the go at once...............I have one in my car, one by my comp, one on my coffee table, one in my jacket pocket..............lol oh and one in my handbag............. they make you rattle a bit but it's better rattling than stinking of stale smoke
