Well done you Claire - 1 month is a huge milestone.
If there is any advice I can give at all it would be to really not worry about your weight this early into the quit - it puts far too much pressure on you and you don't want that (trust me on this one). Once you feel really comfortable with the quit then worry about the weight.
Just think you would have to be a really really big mama for weight to have anywhere near the ill affects that smoking causes.
You be proud of your acheivement... Look forward to congratulating you on month 2

24 days already?? Crikey where did that time go?!!
Well done Claire that is fantastic and once you hit the month it will feel amazing!!
The weight gain sounds about normal and dont fret too much it does level out - I thought I had my few pounds sorted, then school holidays came and I have been munching on left over fish fingers, half eaten cakes and pinching sweets off kids & not exercising so afraid need to get back on track too!!
yeah i think i am better off not worrying about the weight really, as i am not overweight anyway (only 9st 10lbs- 136 lbs for you americans!), so shouldnt really worry!
I know Shelly, its gone SO quickly!! In some ways it feels like yesterday that i gave up, but in other ways, it seems like months ago!!
My mum and sister have been down to stay at my place, and stayed at my older sisters house for a few days before coming to mine, and my older sister and BIL all smoke and my mum and younger sister stank of smoke when they arrived here!!
I feel so terrible that i used to make visitors stink like that!
I am feeling great, healthy etc...but the feeling of being exhausted hasnt gone away yet! I am still struggling to get out of bed in the morning, to get out of the house, to get motivated etc...any tips please people?
Counting in months now are we?????Well done Claire it seems only yesterday you were counting the days and cheering at getting to week 1....see how quickly a day at a time builds up....
Keep those eyes firmly fixed on the Penthouse, dont let yourself get distracted and you will be there in no time.
That makes today day 25..... flying by now right? I am happy you are making it. You seemed determined right from the start so I'm not surprised you are doing so well.................. good for you hang in there and if you really want to do well don't follow in the steps of a Sparky..........
Claire where did the weeks go?? doesnt seem that long does it but I told you at the beginning that the days once they turn into weeks start to whizz by and they have haven’t they.
I hope you are still feeling full of enthusiasm for the quit, I’m sure you do as you are a lifelong none smoker I’m sure.
Thanks for all the support you guys, couldnt have done it without you!
Yep, day 25 today!
Wow!
For the first couple of weeks i stayed at home hibernating, avoiding smokers and avoiding being in a situation where i would be around ciggies, smokers, the smell of smoking etc. But now i am going out into the world as a non-smoker, and part of being a non-smoker is being able to smell the smoke from others as you walk down the street, spending time with smokers etc, without it bothering me.
Mission totally accomplished so far!
I keep looking at the 6 month and 1 year boards, reminding myself that quitting is a long term thing, and to NEVER take another puff, EVER EVER AGAIN!
Keep looking upwards Claire I found that such a help. Climbing the boards here really helped me to see my quit build bit by bit. You move quickly at first and then it slows as you consolidate your quit and it grows stronger....
For a long time my signature read "Eyes Firmly Fixed on the Penthouse"....I watched people celebrate their 12 months in total awe and felt it was something to truly aspire to. Its not always been easy but I can smell the Penthouse now...it is so so close
One day at a time....that's day 25 almost done. Next week you get to celebrate 4 weeks and 1 calender month. :D
